Zips @ #8 Gonzaga 12/10/16

The T on Big Dog looks like the turning point.  The announcers are indicating that Big Dog looks tired.  I was surprised the KD indicated on the last post game that Big Dog is playing himself into shape.  The second half he has not looked as aggressive.  Maybe because of the 4 fouls or maybe he is tired.  Jimond is having a great game and must stay in the starting lineup.

Well we competed for 35. Zags are obviously more talented, but pretty proud of the effort, just need to play better to win these games. You can take a lot more from this game and Creighton's game than Coppin State. Should help come March.

Tired of hearing this story. Yes they played well, yes they gave good effort but you know what? They lost. They didn't cover the spread vs Gonzaga OR Creighton. They were supposed to lose by 17 & 12 points. I'd take a lot more from these games if they'd cover at least.

You know who is satisfied with these types of losses? The Coppin States of the world and all the soccer kids who get a ribbon at the end of the season! I'm glad they're playing these games this year but man I wish the story wouldn't end the same every year.

Akron is going to be the best MAC team with no questions asked. They'll have a couple downers in conference play but I'll be shocked if they lose more than 3 MAC games. And there's no shame in that, the ZIPS are who they are.

Guards let us down in this one. Brutal offensively tonight.

Our guards always seem to struggle against top ranked competition.  They simply cannot penetrate except for Antino.  Noah just does not have any quickness going to the basket.  I am disappointed with Big Dog.  He just lost it after the T and it was downhill from that point.  You cannot play 35 minutes of good basketball.  We needed to compete for 40 minutes.

Meh I'm not making any excuses. I didn't expect them to win. They are the same ol' Zips to me until proven otherwise. Just saying that I think these games will help come MAC and hopefully NCAA tournament time. We haven't normally played top 10 teams on the road, let alone multiple times in one season as far as I can remember.

Seemed to me the "turning" point was the chance to make it a one possession game with the 3 free throws at the under 8 timeout.  The air seemed to go out of the Zips when the first two were short (Ivey?).

Gee, hope you didn't lose too much money on this one!  I'm sure we'll cover nex'time.

Big dog looks like he had a free buffet in the offseason. He is fat AF

Sounds like the possibility of an actual home and home between GU and the Zips is in the offing.

That being said, I'm pretty sure this will be my last visit.

Your board's "pet" nickname for GU's big man (used by multiple boardmembers) was childish and beyond classless.  I'd thought you guys were better than that, but obviously not.

Enjoy your season.

What am I missing? Big Dog? That is our player's nickname.

I'm getting tired of moral victories. I'd like to be able to spring the upset just once.

Yep.  Like I kept saying this week and last week, these games have all seemed to follow the same pattern for so long now.  Game ended on a 19-3 run.   All of these games seem to have that 5 min. period that blows the whole thing apart.

The breakthrough might happen at some point.  I'm still waiting and hoping.
