Warren Ball had 18 carries in the game against VMI last year.  I hope I don't see him carry the ball half that much in this game.  Let Van carry the load on the ground, and work on getting Tommy the work with the receivers to get our best options for our personnel in the passing game figured out.

This game should serve as an "extended training camp" to help us decide how we're going to approach the 10 remaining games.

We win decisively, but not on the scoreboard.  Ball will be featured until he gets to the 150 yd mark then sits.  Tommy (or is it Thomas?  Didn't he tell SID he wanted to be called Thomas last year??) will get hit hard on a late hit and injure his shoulder again, and will miss the second half, so not many yards....

I honestly know nothing about this team we are facing.

I know they had a big 23-10 victory at home last week against the notorious Morehouse College Maroon Tigers.

Since we all know plenty about the Maroon Tigers, that should be a good indicator of what to expect this week.

I'm confused (but that's nothing new :) )

I meant we'd dominate the game on the field but it wouldn't show up as TDs scored.  Something will always bollox it up....a fumble in the red zone, an interception in the red zone, a holding penalty that takes up out of scoring position....you know, like the last three seasons in every game....B)

I hope TW gets a lot a work and regains his form and confidence. I also hope Warren has a stat padding type day with some big runs. He's worked hard and stuck with the program, let's hope the offensive line rewards him with some big holes. We need the starting offense fine tuned and ready to execute.

I'm fine with that, if it means 10 carries....about 100 yards.

Then put him on the bench :D

So have a couple of other RBs, who have been here even longer, and likely won't be as valuable to us in November as Ball will be.

I'd rather we try to use him for 15-20 carries because the passing game is failing us in a game that really matters, rather than for a stat-padding showcase against a bad I-AA team.

There are a very limited amount of games where I don't want to see the best talent both teams have to offer on the field, tomorrow is not one of those games. Injuries happen all the time, not just in games. Should the Zips not practice healthy starters because we are fearful? I think the offensive starters could use as many positive reps as possible tomorrow. I hear a SB winning coach say "we don't live in our fears" all the time. I like that saying. I want to hear that cannon a dozen times tomorrow. ? Go Zips! ?

PS OU vs Purdue on FS1 8 pm
