I heard Bowden say in one interview that he was canceling a practice to give the kids a mental break. Also, if you are mainly playing kids who don't play, I do not see how this puts you at a disadvantage. I also think it would be good to play a kid like Kato who has not seen a ton of reps. The kids cannot practice during finals, so they had that time off, as well. Lastly, you need to get the kids are tion turned, get them in a positive mindset after the disappointment of the MAC Championship.

PSA: Blocking FAU users (not including Boca Rocket) was very satisfying this morning. I highly suggest others consider it as it will  likely improve your experience. They people are hear to belittle and create a negative experience. No thanks. 

 

FWIW, it has to be done on a desktop in Chrome if you are using Android or a Windows desktop.

Hi guys. I'm an FAU person here. This is a really exciting matchup for me. When I was deciding on which college to go to, Akron and FAU were very high on my top college list. I fell in love with the Akron campus when I visited - it really does look beautiful. And you guys have some really awesome undergrads. I'm hoping this game will be a close one til the end. A nail biter would be awesome.

Did I read that right that Kato attended 3 different high schools? Hopefully he only ends up being at 1 college.

That's a problem with high school sports in South Florida the constant free agency and recruiting.  It's a messy business down here.

I wouldn't count on it. Although, I am sure it was his dad making those calls and he is an adult and can make his own decisions, now.

Troy is demolishing Northern Texas right now, the team FAU beat twice this year.  FAU beat them 69-31 and 41-17.  Troy up 35-20 in the third.  Troy narrowly survived us.

 

Just thought it was interesting.  Next best comparison is teams we played playing each other (even though it's like comparing apples and carrots).

Sure, why not?  We're Zips fans looking for some comparisons.  

 

If a top level C-USA team may not be anywhere near as good as a top level Sunbelt team right now, that's potentially good news for us, since we fared well against that Top Sunbelt school.

FAU had 9 sacks vs North Texas in the c-USA championship game. Troy pretty much did what we did to North Texas twice. But yeah we don’t have super great wins, but we did on average win our conference games by 3 tds. We were up 69-17 in the 3rd quarter vs North Texas in the first matchup. Only close game was Marshall and we were up 2 tds with 5 mins to go. 

 

Maybe Akron puts up a great game. You never know in bowl games.

But who did you beat? At least we won all our games handily. Maybe we aren’t that great, but you play who is on your schedule. 

 

Look akron should have all the motivation in the world because no one is giving you a shot. I really do hope it’s a great game, and everyone from Akron coming down has a great time in the area.

We beat enough of the teams on our schedule to get to the championship game.  Same argument you just made.
