@LZIp - Just for clarification, the image tweeted above list only the practices that are open to the public.

 

They will have several more than that throughout the Spring practice period.

 

I'm shooting to be there for the 3/22 practice.

U of A Football: Spring practice begins with Kato Nelson in a lead role, several positions up for grabs

 

“Kato is clearly No. 1, but one of the most impressive players in our offseason program has been Alex Ramart.”

 

This is the competition I am most interested in.  I'd be surprised if Kato doesn't begin next season as the starter... but I'm really excited to see what Alex brings to the table.  I'm looking forward to @CDMac keeping us in the know! 

 

 

According to the article Suggs won't be in the mix this spring because of a legal issue. :/

And Alex needs pumped up & needs to be ready to go, we are in a tight spot again at QB, need to stay healthy, Red shirt Sophomore & 2 Red Shirt Freshman, one a walk on is what we got right now

Just like many of you, I'm very interested in this competition. We're less than 24 hours away from the start of Akron Spring Football 2018.

Not a bad article by GT, to be honest. Bowden singling out the #2 QB (and a R. Freshman at that) as the having the most impressive offseason is a really good thing to read. Seems we will be set no matter what ends up happening at that position.

 

I don't like hearing the Suggs news at all.

 

@94zipgradI can't help but think you just dropped us another "hint". I like to be a little more direct - Is Robbie Kelley no longer on the team and/or did Johns leave/continue with the change of position?

I have a buddy of a buddy so what i hear i truly never know if details are accurate & they don’t disclose injuries & they definitely don’t say what the injury is so i stay vague but i believe Johns is staying at TE/Hback, & Kelley has a season ending injury & should be back next year but again i’m NO insider

Alex impressed me last spring, glad to read he continues to progress. 

 

I'm a little surprised this hasn't been resolved yet...."Defensively, the most significant loss and issue for the Zips might be finding a replacement for associate head coach and defensive coordinator Chuck Amato....UA continues the search — internally and externally."

I feel like it has to be an internal promotion if nothing has been done yet.

I feel Ramart is the future. If not this coming season, definitely the next and beyond.

One left by Coach Amato; one left by Coach Hickson; and a 10th spot which the NCAA opened up recently.

 

Anyone have any inside scoop on who's going to fill those spots?

 

I'm assuming the coach from STVM is going to be working behind the scenes and won't count toward the "coach" numbers.

I heard St. V Coach is doing linebackers, one of the offensive grad asst. from last year is doing the TE/H back since Boykin went to RB

 

not announcing. DC makes you think a little, i thought they would give to Stroud & let Thompson the video guy do DL as he works with them now, maybe Stroud, just a guess doesn’t feel comfortable taking for health reasons,  be interested in seeing what we do, any old Bowden connections out there ?

Weird that he can be out of D-I eligibility but can get another year playing at a lower division. Really doesn't help our OL situation at all.
