ZippyRulz
Survived the upset. Sounds like Campbell will be back next year. Merry Christmas!

Like you, we had our first game cancelled. Unlike Nebraska, we paid South Dakota State. And as an FCS team, we had more options in finding a replacement. Originally, we scheduled a game on Dec 1st with Incarnate Word (San Antonio) by buying them out of their game with North Alabama. Of course, whenever a perennially poor team schedules us, they immediately become successful. For a while it looked like we might be playing in the Big 12 championship game on Dec 1st (we lost to Texas and ended up 3rd). And Incarnate Word was playing for their conference championship and an autobid to the FCS playoffs. They lost, but still got an at-large bid, so if they won on Nov 24th, they would not be available to play us on Dec 1st. They said if they lost on Nov 24th, they still wanted to play us on Dec 1st. Our AD, never one to let bad luck take control, got out of the Incarnate Word contract last week and booked Drake, a non-scholarship FCS school in Des Moines. The last time we played Drake was 1985 and lost to them in a rivalry "Victory Bell" game, but no one knows what happened to the victory bell. So, it appears that we had to work through 4 different contracts in order to play a team from just down the road . . . in the cold and snow . . . as a 42 point favorite . . . and enjoy an unprecedented 8th home tailgate! P.S. We don't need the game to be bowl eligible, but Campbell wanted the game to give more players a chance to experience real playing conditions. Yoohoo, you guys really whooped up on those Mallards. Congrats to you and all the other twisting wind fans. P.S. rumor has it that Adrian College has an open date next year. We tailgated and it was miserable. Even lost my favorite tailgate tent to a nasty east wind. This game was not meant to be played! Yet, I would take our makeup game over yours. Our AD talked about it being like a bowl game for Drake. He let them use our practice facility on Friday. Even had a dinner for them in our endzone club area with Drake stuff on the jumbotrons and ribbon boards. All the pregame articles were about the backups who never ended up playing. Maybe we made too big a deal of it for them. They came to play. And they had plays ready to exploit the weather. It didn't help when we got a high snap on the punt after our first possession and they sacked our punter in the red zone. Made us play from behind all day until DeShante Jones from Cincinnati ran a slant for the TD. Oh well, next stop is the Riverwalk in San Antonio. P.S. If Adrian has an open date, I'm sure our AD is already calling them!

Dr Z
If there are six better receivers in this draft, this will be one heck of a draft for receivers.

Cykron
Had a great time at our tailgate in Orlando before the Camping World Bowl. Disappointed to not see any of you there. You must have been somewhere else. Perhaps you were with our team! They didn't show up either! ?
