Ohio State likely paid us somewhere in the neighborhood of 75k-125k to play them. It's not as lucrative as college football buy games, but Akron still makes money off of playing OSU in Columbus as it doesn't cost that much to drive 4 hours to Columbus and get a hotel for the night. I would rather them schedule a team that they did not have to pay to come into the jar. How does a 7 foot center learn anything when his defender is 6-5? I'd rather us schedule the local small colleges, at least it would make for a more fun atmosphere in the JAR. Walsh, Malone, Mount Union, they give 110% when they play UA & bring some fans with them. Treat them with respect & make sure they have a good time and we could make some new Zips fans.
