Havent heard about tv, but i'm not holding my breath on that one. Maybe 360?
GoZips88
Damn it! Whoopee! GO PEAY!
ZachTheZip
We would never get somone extremely good. That would give us a chance at an at-large, and you know the MAC can't have an at-large. That would force the selection committee to actually have to think about our conference. ziptrumpet87
We beat them and went to the NCAA tourny back in the 80's when Huggins was here. Here's to hoping we make the trip again!
Blue & Gold
Pretty lack luster. I was hoping to get some of my OSU-obsessed friends hyped up for the Bracketbuster game. No chance with that now.
Balki Bartokomous
Wow, looking at all the other MAC teams, they got great games. ESPN can go suck an ass.
FearTheRoo
"Austin Peay at AkronSurprise OVC leader, powered by sophomore sensation and league POY candidate Drake Reed, would improve its RPI dramatically if it finds a way to beat the not-much-of-a-surprise MAC East leader and its inside-outside combination of LeBron's old pals, Romeo Travis and Dru Joyce. "Sounds like it is a big help for AP and no big deal for AKR.
bigzipguy
I agree with uakronkid: There is no way that the NCAA wants the MAC to get an at-largebid. It, unfortunately, is all about the money!!!!!!!!!
Blue & Gold
Ahh! I just saw that Can't got George Mason!!! Yeah, last year's NCAA Final Four George Mason!!! Who'd we get again? Oh, yeah... Aston Peh, or something like that!?
zip81
With the exception of Tenn Wesleyan, all of their wins have been in the OVC.Illinios destroyed them 80-35.Other non conference losses were to Dayton, Arkansas St., Memphis and Evansville. They're currently on a ten game winning streak against an OVC that looks down this year. Can't is at George MasonOld Dominion is at ToledoOhio at N. Mexico St.and we get Austin PeayI'll never forget their fans yelling..."let's go Peay, Let's go Peay!"
K-Roo
pathetic draw... Can't get's George Mason on the road... we get the Austin Peay (yes pronounced pee) Governors at home... sad...
Zips fan
This sucks! This is will do nothing for the Zips! Last week we lost seven spots in the RPI with wins over NIU and WMU. Now we play a team with a lower RPI than WMU. A win will cause us to lose a spot or two, where a lose will kill us all together. Thanks for nothing ESPN! Captain Kangaroo
Yeah it sucks, but Nevada got the same raw deal last season when they played a Zips team that had no business playing a team of Nevada's caliber. And, Nevada drilled us. And this season they're #13 in the nation. What the Zips need to do, is drill Austin Peay. And then continue winning. Like it or not, that's the way it works. Those early season key losses bit us in the @ss today. The success K.e.n.t. has had over the past 8 years helped their cause. If it matters, George Mason was guaranteed a home game, so they had no chance of playing the Zips anyhow. And...what they did last season isn't helping them too much this year...they're mediocre at best.Next year, we get the Nevada-esque respect. "The Fly is Open, Let's Go Peay."Fly Williams couldn't have picked a better school to attend.
zipsbandman
This draw ranks right up there with Loyola and Winston Salem State. We need to get to the dance this year or we will continue to lack respect. We win games but can we win the games that matter? Anything less than a championship will be a huge letdown and we will continue to be a mediocre draw in the future.

jeaglet1
Austin Peay down 13 at the half to 7-15 southeast missouri state
w00t
The Bracket Buster didn't mean anything for Akron anyway... the only three Zips games that matter at this point (as far as NCAA Tournament implications are concerned) will be played at The Q March 8-10. GoZips88
Zips Marketing and Depends Diapers present Austin Peay in the JAR... yikes! THAT is making lemonade out of lemons! I hope the athletic department runs with something like that - why NOT? Love the levity in the face of a crappy draw ...
Zip_ME87
This absolutely sucks. But, I think the biggest concern here is to not let disappointment, dismay, and disdain lead to defeat. As Captain said, we just have to deal with it and go kick @ss. Then take care of business at the Q.BTW...the ESPN website lists this game among the 14 on television. Has to be the U or 360. No way this will be on the Deuce. timmyboy
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU ESPN FOR JACKING AKRON OVER..... AUSTIN PEAY? WTF IS THAT? CAN WE GET A COMPETATIVE TEAM THAT WILL HELP OUT OUR RPI AND HELP PUSH US INTO THE TOURNEY? IT DOESNT REALLY MATTER CUZ WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE MAC AN GET THE AUTO BID ANYWAYS, BUT ITS JUST THE POINT.
ZachTheZip
I think I found their message board website. It is Peaymania.comI am still waiting for the confirmation e-mail from their sign-up page so I that can actually view the site.I am also assuming that their mascot is one of those things from Fraggle Rock. "The Fly is Open, Let's Go Peay."Fly Williams couldn't have picked a better school to attend. You got it Cap'n (and darn you for beating me to the classic "Fly's open, let's go Peay"). No question, the Rowdies should have a field day for this one. Don't forget the alzo sprach classico: "Show us your Peayness"! NO, NO, NO!"I do share the chorus' amazement at the selection, however. Especially if LeBron U gets screwed out of a national TV appearance by Toledo and Ohio. But, NMSU is a great draw for Bubba & Co. Have a nice stay in Las Cruces, ninos, and don't forget to enjoy the chilis relleno from La Posta! Remember, it could have been the Zips heading to the Sun and Fun Capitol of Lower New Mexico. BUT, next year Herb Pope plays to the O-Zone.
a-zip
It's too bad we can't deny the game. Seriously, the Bracketbuster was designed to HELP Mid-Majors and it has become a joke. Schools deny postseason football bowl games.....can we say "no thank you" to the invite. Our RPI dropped from winning in the past week and will drop again if we be "the Peay". The other side of the coin is we play at the Peay next year, which will also unboubtably hurt us again. We already have enough scheduling problems, why take on more. We have nothing to gain. johnnyzip84
Hey, every dark cloud (with A Peay, maybe that should be "yellow" cloud!) has a silver lining. There is the mandatory return visit to Clarksville next year!!! I say that some of us older fans teach the Rowdies the old "OVC" chant, complete with the YMCA-like hand motions
