Absolute madness. Why do they have to meet at all? Is what makes college football great a national championship, or is it everything else. I'm of the opinion it's everything else. Quote
pdt1420 Posted Sunday at 01:44 AM Report Posted Sunday at 01:44 AM Oh that’s a completely sarcastic post. I’m firmly in the limited conference and 8 team playoff camp. Quote
GP1 Posted Sunday at 10:53 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 10:53 PM EJ Manuel summed up the ESPN view of the college football playoff expansion this morning. He basically said that once you boil down college football to the core, it's about late season meaningful games and winning a national championship. A true company man. I almost threw up listening to him. Quote

Zips1991 Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Not sure where to put it but it appears we have a OOC schedule casualty resulting from the MAC 9-game schedule. https://fbschedules.com/san-jose-state-akron-cancel-future-home-and-home-football-series/?ref=bythebelt.com 1 Quote

There's just no choice but to get rid of these sorts of games. 1 1 2 Quote

There's just no choice but to get rid of these sorts of games. The Robert Morris game this year literally paid for itself with the OC for a series promotion. Getting rid of the FCS game would mean getting rid of those type of promotions as well. Edit: Also, it's probably not exactly cheap to fly ~100 people to California and put them up in a hotel for 2 nights. There is an expense associated with playing those games. Less than the ~$300K we paid Robert Morris, but still likely a 6 figure expense. Edited 6 hours ago by kreed5120 1 Quote
