The transfer portal OL market is literally crazy. We’ve had guys transfer to Liberty, Auburn, and ECU. Probably missing others, but I thought they all could easily be replaced.

Yep, OL are at a premium in the portal. I’m not sure where Auburn stands now, but they had around 8 scholarships to fill not too long ago. They also are hurting for OL depth (I guess that part is fairly obvious). Quality DL are also at a premium.

SIU is about the level I thought our transfers would land.  Auburn? Not so much.

Goes to show how badly Auburn is struggling along the OL. In Chambers’ defense, he was solid at RT, but was a bit out of his depth at LT. Good enough to play in the SEC? I’d say no, but apparently Auburn thought differently.

I know of another SEC team that is heavily looking at a few linemen from the G5 level that played less than half the season last year and P5 OL that played less than 150 snaps. It’s crazy what some teams are willing to take on the OL at this point in the year.

Did Chambers play in the 2022 Liberty game? If so, Hugh Freeze would have seen him in person. But of course there is also video.

He did, but only a handful of snaps.

Hard to keep track of all this movement.  Will they have a completely new O Line then?

Thanks for all your work on this @Catdaddyp

I think 9 return from last year, although not all played. Almost 100% turnover from when Moorhead took over. Lyons is currently the lone holdover on the OL from the last staff.

Wouldn't those players be viewed as more depth pieces? More players they have no intention to start, but willing to bring into camp to compete for a backup role.

Yes, they are depth pieces. Chances are they’ll see the field at some point though.

Announcing you are entering  the TP and then committing in the same tweet is a look. Have to think he entered earlier, it just wasn’t known.

Yeah, he was in the portal well before the announcement. Not all make it known on social media and I didn’t want to steal his thunder if he did.
