TennZip
I would be remiss if I also did not talk about Beto Ydrach. He is an absolute warrior. Georgetown really concentrated their attack ....using their left winger to attack the zips right back..... Beto was constantly in the right place.....and he battled all game against Georgetown's big, talented front line.

TennZip
writeup from the Georgetown men's soccer site https://guhoyas.com/news/2024/9/28/mens-soccer-hoyas-fall-to-zips.aspx Head Coach Brian Wiese "Credit to Akron, they're a good team and they started off strong. But that's the main disappointment for the day because for the next 70 minutes I thought we were very good. Their goalie had not just eight saves, but eight great saves, so at the end of the day, the main complaint is the start of the match and the inability just to push one past them. Now we need to move on quickly to Providence. They're one of the top teams in the conference and we need to be a little more lethal in front of the net if we can." His shot was stopped by a sliding block from a Zip defender. It was Zengue with another good look early in the second half, but his shot to the left post was saved off of the line by an Akron defender. Minutes later, GU looked to have the equalizer on freshman Tate Lampman'sheader off of a corner. However, the left hand of Budler managed to snag it to get the stop. Corner kicks were dangerous for GU when a header from freshman Mitchell Baker was once again saved off of the line by a defender. Some GREAT team defending!!! Awesome teamwork Zips! Enjoy a pleasant trip home.
MDZip
I'd like to take some credit for this one. I have taken my wife to a number of Zips games (soccer, football, basketball) and the Zips have lost every single one. We were supposed to go to the Georgetown game but went out of town at the last minute. You're welcome. 🤣 1

Question: What's the all-time record between the Zips and Hoyas? That's our first win vs them in Big East competition, correct? 3-0-1 in the Zips favor. Yes, that's right, in four all-time games against the Hoyas, we are undefeated.

TennZip
Congratulations to Emil. He is the best #9 that Akron has had in the past 10 to 15 years. Great scorer, very unselfish passer.
