Let'sGoZips94 Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 One of the only nice things I will say about Ohio State is I appreciate them not shying away from playing Akron on a consistent basis - both here and there. 3 Quote

NYC ZIP Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 (edited) If opponents perform similar to last year, there are several Tier 1 RPI wins on the schedule. OSU(1) WMU(30) SLU (37) Cornell (25)were all top 30-ish RPI teams last season. Plus I’m sure a conference opponent or two will be high RPI rank. Big opportunities for the youthful Zips roster. NYC ZIP Posted June 3 Report Posted June 3 Also our big east conference games against the East Division do not appear to include Georgetown (3) or Providence (18) Quote
TennZip Posted June 3 Author Report Posted June 3 1 hour ago, NYC ZIP said: Also our big east conference games against the East Division do not appear to include Georgetown (3) or Providence (18) I think that the Zips alternate years on Big East Eastern Division opponents...(always play the 5 other teams in Big East Mid west and 3 games against Big East Eastern teams) in 2023, the Zips played Connecticut, St. John's and Seton Hall Those 3 teams have already released their 2025 schedules and the Zips play all 3 teams in 2025. In 2024, the Zips played Georgetown, Providence and Villanova. Villanova announced their schedule today and the Zips are not on their schedule. 3 big east Midwest teams ..(Xavier, Butler and Marquette) have released their schedules.... so....of the 10 games announced so far, 6 of the games are conference games. The 2 remaining Big East conference games....will be against Midwest foes Creighton and DePaul. I would anticipate that it will be a while before DePaul releases their schedule. DePaul had to announce a tragic event yesterday involving a player that started in 16 games for them last year. I am sure that all of us in the Akron zips soccer community want to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of this young man and to the coaches and the players of the DePaul Men's soccer community. https://depaulbluedemons.com/news/2025/6/2/athletics-depaul-university-mourns-the-loss-of-student-athlete-chase-stegall 1 2 Quote

TennZip Posted June 6 Author Report Posted June 6 Most NCAA Division 1 soccer teams will start their regular season on Thursday night August 21. NYC ZIP Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 I think the schedule is done. Traditionally, Jared has steered the ship. The official announcements vary by school, but Akron generally announces first week of July. 2 Quote
NYC ZIP Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 (edited) Add another match against a top team for the Zips this fall. Akron will play at home against West Virginia on August 29. Last season, West Virginia finished 13-2-7, won the Sun Belt tournament , and lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament to UVA. They ended at 16 in RPI and 16 in most national polls. Another opportunity for the Zips against a top out of conference opponent. https://wvusports.com/news/2025/6/13/mens-soccer-announces-2025-schedule.aspx Edited June 13 by NYC ZIP 6 Quote

NYC ZIP Posted Monday at 11:11 PM Report Posted Monday at 11:11 PM Quite possibly the Zips will open their season on the road against another potentially strong opponent VCU on August 21. VCU beat Wake Forest and was highly ranked until the Zips bashed them 4-0 in a monsoon at home. That loss unraveled the Rams a bit and they finished middle of the pack in the A10. https://vcuathletics.com/news/2025/6/16/mens-soccer-mens-soccer-announces-2025-schedule.aspx 1 Quote

Neither Akron or DePaul has released their schedule. 1 Quote

Neither Akron or DePaul has released their schedule. To my untrained eyes, there's an 8th Big East game (as you mentioned) that I would think is October 10 or 11. Plus, I think there will be a game on Labor Day at home, as that's pretty common. Then, the other two would just be guesses based on the gaps in the schedule above, but I think there would be a game on September 12 or 13 and another on October 22 maybe? Quote
