zen
This actually makes me feel good. I was really worried that he would have to sit on the bench on this shitty team for several years. He'll get picked up

Let'sGoZips94
MAN!!!!!! This is Savage's fault. If he hadn't drafted Quinn Charlie wouldn't of been under as much pressure. Now i'd go get Leftwich.
skip-zip
I have to respond to this two ways. As a Browns fan, and as a Zips fan.As a Zips fan, this is GREAT news. When Charlie was first drafted by the Browns, I said "great, we'll get to see him play right here". But looking back, this was a bad situation for a quarterback to step into (just ask Garcia and Dilfer). He needs to get into a better situation. As a Browns fan, I'm pissed. This tells us that we are going to rebuild....AGAIN. Lets face it, they have no intention of making Anderson a starter. They are simply going to buy some time for Brady, which means that the season is virtually over. The Beacon Journal just reminded me this morning that Anderson threw at least a half dozen passes that should have been picked off. And he can't move, which means he's going to get teed-off on back there.Happy day if you are a Charlie fan. Frustrating day if you are a Browns fan. you am i
where did this news come from? its not on the pd or abj websites. nothing on espn or cbs sportsline.
GoZips88
Triv and Browns sideline reporter Andre Knott were talking on the air on WTAM 1100 around 5:30 this afternoon about the QB situation. Triv speculated that Anderson would be cut. Andre said don't be surprised if it is Frye. Not sure if this is where zen got his info but that is where I heard it. skip-zip
I'm watching the news right now, and they are saying nothing about this. In fact, Romeo is saying "we are not making any personnel decisions today".Hmm. I was about to start celebrating for Charlie.
Z-Pouch
I think the rumor started because the Browns brought Dorsey back in town today. So everyone is assuming that someone has to go. If it is Frye, lets hope he catches on somewhere as a backup. Not the worst thing in the world for him to get away from this situation. you am i
they'd look like fools cutting charlie or anderson after one game. what would they do next, pick-up dorsey again? it would be like musical chairs at quarterback. they've got to pick one guy and go with him. what romeo did with charlie was a joke. he names him the starter and then pulls him after one quarter in the first game. what a way to screw with your quarterback's confidence. and anderson can't be feeling much better about his situation after he saw what happened to charlie. plus, the entire team has to be watching this thinking, wtf is going on? its week two of the season and no one has any idea who is the starting quarterback. jeaglet1
Am I the only one who though Charlie played a horrible game yesterday??? Yeah the team did crappy too, but Charlie was throwing behind recievers, holding the ball to long, making bad descisions. Hes a much better quarter back than he showed yesterday, but I had no problem with them brinign Anderson in.That being said, I think Charlie is the best QB on the roster right now, but thats not saying much... akronad
OK. I've scoured every area media site and it is not being reported theat Frye has been cut.Did Charlie play poorly yesterday. Yes, but it wasn't just him. just look at the first punt , it was mishadled and then 4 penalties on top of that. This whole thing goes a lot deeper than the qb. I don't care if it is Charlie, Anderson or Cry Brady. None of these guys are going to be able to gets things turned around.
zip81
Channel 3 also just reported that Dorsey is back in Berea...they're not saying if he's signed or who is cut. They are speculating on The Extra Point, that Dorsey is back to mentor Brady as the starter, and that Frye or Anderson are out.If true, this goes to show that the Browns front office doesn't have a freaken clue. How embarrassing. skip-zip
jeaglet1...I don't think anyone thought Charlie played well. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen him that out of synch. But you say that he played a "poor game", and he only played one quarter. I'd be truly amazed if the Browns changed their mind about their starter after one quarter of football. That would be the ultimate desperation move. That's beyond bizarre. If Zip81 is right, and Dorsey comes back as the starter, and Quinn as the backup, this would be the most bizarre move of all time. Because, you would have to ask yourself, if they thought that highly of Dorsey, why did they cut him?The saga continues...I guess.
74ZIP
actually after what HOMEO did to CHARLEY they need to cut him...obviously Charley was not REALLY the starter...HOMEO has botched this so badly they can't keep CHARLEY...you don't bench the so called #1 QB in the first game of the season then keep him on the squad...bad karma

skip-zip
The Tuesday morning news is also confirming that Ken Dorsey is back in Berea.I was hoping yesterday that Charlie got his gift, and got to get out of here. Now I don't know what is happening. Stay Tuned.
zen
I was hoping yesterday that Charlie got his gift, and got to get out of here. Now I don't know what is happening.Dorsey hasn't been signed yet. So, they can't cut frye. Dorsey may be asking for more loot than he got last time around. LOL.What I am about to say hurts me. I don't think I ever could have imagined myself saying it. I was 9 years old and sunday afternoons were my favorite time of the week because of the browns, but....the Cleveland Browns are gheywhat a f'n loser organization. Dr Z
I would hold off on our congrats to Frye just yet. My guess is they cut that "punter"Here is to hoping Frye gets lucky though
Zipgrad01
I would love to see Frye get cut so he can end up in Atlanta, Miami, or somewhere decent that he can compete for a job. History has shown that Cleveland is the city that kills a qb's career.I find it disgraceful that he was yanked after 3 series of the 1st game. What kind of joke is that? Crennel is in over his head and he needs to be the next one on the chopping block. I hope Quinn gets thrown in and gets the same treatment as everyone else. Browns fans will be booing him by week 8. Zipgrad01
The concussion is possible I guess. Didn't he get sacked on his last series before he even made it back to his 3 step drop? Thats why in Cleveland I call it the "3 step and get dropped".
