MDZip
On the camera pointing East, you can see quite a lot of progress on the dorms. I know they don't affect the stadium progress, but the whole campus together is going to look really impressive when that's done. They won't be done by the stadium opening but does anyone know what the completion date for them is? Once the stadium is done will we have "dorm-cam" until they're done? bigham78
wow.... this turf looks great.I told you to wait until the work was further along in being installed and those ABJ long range photos on rainy day was not doing the field any justice. I love what they're install and they still have logo's, numbers, the endzones and eastside sideline to do.

RowdyZip
Hash marks are being added to the field today, it won't be long until we see a huge midfield logo amongst a seas of green! Less than 3 months to go, Zips fans!
Buckzip
Now that's interesting. They just rolled out the first east side strip and you can tell by looking at the reverse side where the encroachment white strip is.I wonder if they got those from the dentist so they do a really good job instead of those Crest white strips. My sources tell me they got them from John Elway's personal stash. Not true. If that were the case they would be too big to fit inside the stadium...Yeeooooo horsey. Have you seen the honors complex or the exchange street dorm? They are very nice! I am not sure is there are any additional dorms planned. You might want to post on the general/campus discussion board for more info.
tbozeglav
Theres one house left on spicer... which is the one that can't be torn down until the court case is settled over the UA Trustee and his son... that whole shenanigansAs soon as that house goes down, i believe they'll start work on the other dorms that are slated to be built on the corner of spicer and exchange. Second and third shifts are especially costly. That logic is fairly sound, but you gotta remember that a lot of subcontractors are on the hook for a deadline. So, it's up to them to decide how much they are going to work, and whether it's within their budget to work people over. They put in bid for their work and if they go over it's their own problem. Some subcontractors could be behind, and others may not. What is worse, the general can be breathing down some of their necks because, of course, other subs can't even get in to do their work until others have finished certain things. The costs is built into the bid and Welty will have to pay UofA penalities if the stadium part is not done by 08/22 the promised delivery date. Welty also gets a bonus for delivering on 08/22 and that's another reasons he increased the manpower. The entire project is on schedule and the only delay is the installation of the glass which the project manager has said has taken longer then expected. He fully expects everthing to be ready 08/22 less floors two through four of the press tower which are classrooms and that timetable was always longer then the rest of the stadium project. The project is currently under budget due to the economy and that's why they're adding some things like the scrolling scoreboard on the upper deck. Welty workers are non-Union so their OT costs is not near as bad a Union construction company.
ditchrider1
Okay, so I may have my first gripe about the stadium. The Infocision or Summa patch you can see in the 2nd webcam. If that is where they have sewn/installed it, I do not like that at all! It seems way too close to the MAC logo. I thought the Summa/Info patches were supposed to be on the opposite side of the field across from the mac patches according to the model in the "pick your seat" thread. If this is where they are staying I do not like it...too cluttered and it looks crooked.

Though for the life of me I don't know why they didn't just use the Infocision Summa Field logo they already had for it. It is much better looking

vmd9
It's cool they are using the akron font for the yard numbers on the field. It gives it a unique look compared to the generic font used at most stadiums in the country.
