johnnyzip84
THANKS EVERYONE!!!so what is the big news that I should know about since april 14th or so? p.sI still can't get overhow awesome this all looksCongrats once again, zipseuph! One little tidbit I can offer that might interest you is that the moving plans for Ohio Brewing are starting to sound a little more solid. They're supposedly moving the restaurant/brewpub portion to a much smaller place down Main (across from Canal Park) and the production equipment into yet another building farther down the street. This will allow them to bette meet the demands for their beer as they've recently secured a distribution contract with Tramonte's. Best of luck to you in your service duties! flipthezip
Any chance they may move camera 3 inside the press tower or loges. There is not much construction left in this cameras scope to watch. After the scoreboard goes up, camera 2 will have little to show. Also, I would guess that all the cameras will be taken down in another 3-4 weeks anyway. JD is planning to practice in the stadium and I know he tries to limit the number of eyes on some of his practices.

ZachTheZip
The dorms are built up to the third floor now. Most of the construction on the stadium is now indoors or outside of the camera's view. Don't expect the cams to remain online for much longer. They'll probably go down once the scoreboard is finished. The more interesting construction on campus now has nothing to do with the stadium. The parking deck is moving along, the lower floors of the Engineering building are being remodeled, and the dorms on spicer are steadily going up. Unlike Can't people we wont throw bags of our urine or rocks at you. We actually appreciate a true American!I will never in my lifetime forget the Can't fans booing the kids being sworn into the service at the Can't-Akron basketball game at the Q two or 3 years ago. I was appalled at such anti-americanism.
ksu sucks
I realize we all hate Can't, but are we seriously calling an entire school anti-American? I think you guys may be stretching it. Most Can't students are of the same demographic as Akron students.
Dr Z
What is the purpose of the two small buildings below? Team shops? Concession stands? What's the area between the buildings going to be used for? Is it like the home run porch at the Jake? Are fans are going to be able to watch the game from there? The area between the entrances can be used on gameday for fans to view the game SRO.

ditchrider1
Anyone know what that little "window" on the southern-most pressbox side is? It is in the section where they have yet to add the rest of the bleachers? They cut it out about a week ago and now they are doing something with it. I cannot imagine it will be exposed after the bleachers are added over top of it?

I see I am correct.I never said the entire school was anti-american. I said Can't fans at the basketball game booed. THOSE fans showed anti-americanism. They didn't all boo, but a LARGE portion of their fan base did. I am sure I wasnt the only person there that night. Can you think of any other incident where a schools fans booed service kids? I sure as hell can't.

I seriously doubt they booed the students themselves. It was inappropriate but people can express themselves inappropriately in many mediums. It happens on ZN as well. This argument is why ZipsNation should stay away from political arguments and concentrate on all things UA. It would be nice if the moderators would set some guidlines on posts and start locking threads that get out of hand. IMO YOMV

Not booing, but might as well have been.

I seriously doubt they booed the students themselves. It was inappropriate but people can express themselves inappropriately in many mediums. It happens on ZN as well. I was against the decision to go into Iraq (not Afgh) but you would never catch me booing a soldier. I have no idea what it takes for your mind to make the absurd association between booing someone who serves their country and the political leadership in washington DC. If anything, you should stand up and admire someone who signs up to serve and sacrifice during a time when the potential sacrifice is high for reasons that may not seem agreeable. No, honestly, I can't agree with your hypothesis. When you boo a soldier, you're saying something about your view of soldiers. I'm really not sure how anyone could make the mistake of associating the attempted humiliation of service personnel as a protest against government leadership. This argument is why ZipsNation should stay away from political arguments and concentrate on all things UA. It would be nice if the moderators would set some guidlines on posts and start locking threads that get out of hand. IMO YOMV free speech can never get out of hand. There is no such thing as too much positive discourse. The problem comes when some people cannot discern between a differing opinion and something that seems personal against them.Offering an alternative opinion to someone is a gift. Getting mad and calling their mama ugly is the opposite.I like the fact that zipsnation members occasionally engage in political discussion without the problems you see among immature people. Me, I always take my hat off and stop talking during the anthem, (unless the singer is just murdering it). But it's entirely plausible for different people to assign different meaning for what our national symbols represent.
