  1. The Milwaukee Panthers come to the JAR Saturday to face the Zips. The Panthers are 2-4 going into a Tuesday night game against Dominican of Illinois. As a former Catholic schoolboy in Akron, I can attest that Dominican nuns are quite tough. Milwaukee thus far has wins over Hampton and Little Rock and losses to Wofford, Indiana, Texas Tech and Wichita State. 6’4” senior guard, former MAC player (Toledo/WMU) transfer Seth Hubbard leads the Panthers at 16 ppg. 6’8” senior forward and Louisville transfer Danilo Jovanovich is second in scoring at 12 ppg while leading rebounding at 5.8 rpg. As you will recall, the Panther thumped the Zips 100-81 at Milwaukee last year. The Panthers were picked to finish first out of 11 teams in the Horizon League in the conference’s official preseason poll.
  2. Congrats to Yale. They were clutch in the pinch. They are the most disciplined and efficient team the Zips will play.
  3. Eric with a rookie mistake.
  4. Baseline is the weak point in the 1-3-1 and they found it.
  5. 42 points from their bigs. 13 from ours, if you include Eric with Lyles, Marvin and Barre.
  6. Our lack of bigs is really showing tonight.
  7. How did the game ever survive without the refs being able to go to the monitor?
  8. Need a fast start to the second half.
  9. He'll get his. They need to slow down his supporting cast.
  10. If he says "on the bounce" one more time I'm throwing something at the TV.
  11. So the guy who's been Yale's head coach for 27 years has their record for all-time career wins. Who'd have thunk it?
  12. Akron assistant Terry "Weingard."
  13. Eric on Townsend to start. Now Evan.
  14. Dru's squad really struggled Saturday at SVSM, losing to a Northeastern team that was not nearly as talented.
  15. Halligan's contribution is that he's a good defender, works hard and doesn't hurt you when he's on the floor with turnovers and bad shots. He's Marvin but on the perimeter.
  16. The answer to the 2004 clue is "When was the last time Eddie George played a down in the NFL?"
  17. But they don't have FBS football which is the centerpiece around which all things MAC must revolve.
  18. Now gone to Akron -2.5 on DraftKings.
