Naaaaaaah, he has plenty of guards.

Mr. Pinky is always at least a year behind Groce....NIL funding....up tempo offense.....

We didn't even get 20 minutes! 16 total minutes for the season he was here!

Buffalo is an interesting study. They've held onto some of their better players while supplementing with transfer talent. Their top scorer, Daniel Freitag is a Wisconsin transfer and is averaging 20 a game. I'm curious to see if they hold up as the season progresses. Their schedule hasn't been very difficult but it's much better than Miami's (whose isn't?). They squeaked by Bucknell 73-71.

Bucknell got peeled by Cornell today in a battle of the nells, 101-72.

She doesn't strike me as that kind of person.

I'm sensing an ugly day ahead for the women's team. I spoke briefly with Melissa at the men's YSU scrimmage and she seemed very happy.

I'm impressed that they're using correct pronouns.

Bucknell has certainly not followed the Miami scheduling plan as they have had decent opponents. They look to have two skilled bigs which gives the Zips another chance to continue to work in Barre.

The 2-6 Bucknell Bison come to Akron Wednesday night to face our 6-2 Zips. The Bison have wins over Delaware and Mount St. Mary's and losses to Princeton, Hofstra, Pittsburgh, St. John's, Bowling Green and Buffalo. 6'11" German freshman forward/center Amon Dories leads Bison scoring at 14.8 ppg while contributing 4.2 rpg. 6'9" senior forward Ruot Bijiek is second in scoring at 12.5 ppg while leading rebounding at 4.8 rpg. The Bison play Cornell today.

That's not fair. They played Indiana (East) and Trinity Christian is among one of the finest basketball programs in Palos Heights, Illinois.
-
I still have PTSD from last year's game when they bullied the Zips.
-
I can't get a real feel for Milwaukee. Their losses other than Wofford are to solid programs and Wofford is okay

I'm gonna sue!

Games 5, 6 & 7- The Paradise Jam

I'm hoping that Barre's ability to gain Groce's trust was adversely impacted by his injury in the pre-season and that the confidence and minutes will grow as the season progresses. He played 11.5 minutes a game at Duquesne last year. Here's hoping there's some of that in store here. -
0-4 Heidelberg can't get here fast enough.

Plus, they'd get to play in the JAR. That's like playing in the Palestra, Madison Square Garden or Cameron Indoor. -

I'd sure like to play Yale every year. Hopefully the last two years have planted a seed. -

Yep. That Yale team was sure clutch. EVERY time they needed to make a shot they did. I'll give our kids credit for sticking with it and fighting through. -

In the post-game, Groce was critical of the Zips defense. -
The Milwaukee Panthers come to the JAR Saturday to face the Zips. The Panthers are 2-4 going into a Tuesday night game against Dominican of Illinois. As a former Catholic schoolboy in Akron, I can attest that Dominican nuns are quite tough. Milwaukee thus far has wins over Hampton and Little Rock and losses to Wofford, Indiana, Texas Tech and Wichita State. 6’4” senior guard, former MAC player (Toledo/WMU) transfer Seth Hubbard leads the Panthers at 16 ppg. 6’8” senior forward and Louisville transfer Danilo Jovanovich is second in scoring at 12 ppg while leading rebounding at 5.8 rpg. As you will recall, the Panther thumped the Zips 100-81 at Milwaukee last year. The Panthers were picked to finish first out of 11 teams in the Horizon League in the conference’s official preseason poll.

Congrats to Yale. They were clutch in the pinch. They are the most disciplined and efficient team the Zips will play. -
