  1. I realize they have a history of not living up to expectations but I think they will be decent this year. The MAC schedule maker has done them no favors as they've started the season against OU, Miami, UMASS, PCCC and Akron. When it all settles out I think they'll be in Cleveland and could cause some trouble for some teams.
  2. WMU comes to Akron Saturday for a 2:00 tilt against the Zips. The Broncos come in at 7-10 fresh off of a 3 point loss to UMASS. They are 1-4 in the MAC with their only win coming against EMU. 5'10" junior guard JUCO transfer Jalen Griffin leads WMU in scoring at 15.5 ppg. 6'4" senior guard, Robert Morris transfer, Justice Williams is second in scoring at 13.7 ppg. Jayden Brewer, a 6'6" senior guard, leads the team in rebounding at 7.6 rpg while being their third leading scorer at 13.3 ppg.
  3. Exactly. This team's propensity to let up with a big lead is maddening. Don't let up on the gas. It would be different if this happened with backups in the game late but it's happening with our vets on the floor.
  4. The ice is back on Sharon's ankle.
  5. Grrrrrr, letting up and getting sloppy again.
  6. The next time I gripe about the Zips perimeter defense remind me of Ball State's.
  7. Ball State gives up the fewest points per game (67.4) in the MAC while surrendering the fewest (69.8). I think it has primarily to do with those numbers.
  8. The MAC schedule maker did BG no favors. Their first 5 MAC games of the season: OU; Miami; UMASS; PCCC; Akron.
  9. I think CMU may have found a winner in that new head coach.
  10. Mike Lewis got off to such a great start when he showed up at Ball State 3 or 4 years ago. I really thought he was going to build something and be consistently competitive in the MAC. Since a great first year it's really gone downhill.
  11. First ten minutes and the last 5 were great. The rest, not so much. The bench was very good last night. I like seeing Bowen and Eric start to heat up. Watching Eric grow up over his career is going to be fun. I sure hope we get to watch 4 years of it.
  12. I'm keeping an eye out for Norton Norm.
  13. Getting on the floor while up 10 with 12 seconds left. You have to love the effort from Groce teams.
  14. Ball State comes to the JAR Tuesday night to face the Zips. The Cardinals stand at 4-11 headed into Saturday’s game at UMASS. The Cardinals have the lowest scoring offense in the MAC, scoring 67.2 ppg. However, they give up the lowest point on average at 69.2 ppg. Safe to say, they slow things down. 6’2” sophomore guard Davion Hill leads scoring at 10.9 ppg. 6’4” junior guard Armoni Ziegler scored 10.2 ppg while contributing 4.8 rpg.
  15. Timely run.
  16. This team's propensity to let teams back into games frustrates me.
  17. Nice 6 point run to end the half.
  18. Zips starting to get sloppy.
  19. Solid start. LOL.
  20. Link if you don't get CBSSN- https://thetvapp.to/tv/cbs-sports-network-live-stream/
  21. Professional cornhole and hobby horse competitions.
  22. BG right now has the best defense in the MAC per Groce. If their defense results in a low Zips 3 point percentage, the Zips continue to turn the ball over and the perimeter defense drops off again, it could be a long night in Stroh Center.
  23. Thanks for getting this thread up. It has been a crazy morning.
  24. Russell Beichly from the 40s and 50s.
  25. 19 turnovers, 6 each by two of your senior leaders. Need to get that fixed fast.
