Hilltopper
South Fayette QB Christian Brumbaugh has been offered. I'll bet this means that a JUCO QB is unlikely in this class. The poster former known as UAkronKid had already reported that Zach Stoudt was likely headed to Mississippi. Rivals Profile He just verbaled William & Mary according to Scout. Had more FCS offers than FBS ones. I don't think we're hurting too badly in the future QB department. In addition to Dylan Potts who got some playing time this season, Zach D'Orazio will be on campus next month, and we have 3-star Kyle Pohl coming in as well. And if Matt Rodgers ever gets healthy, we have plenty of depth and hopefully one of them turns out to be a game-changer. I disagree on the QB depth issue. Potts and D'Orazio are both spread offense QBs. More runners than passers.

But maybe the transition from spread to pro is easier directly out of high school compared to how Nicely had to do it. Especially if Potts and D'Orazio spend the next season redshirting. xu9697
New offer: QB Clayton Moore, JUCO Story on Moore. Looks to be a nice possibility. Originally committed to Ole Miss...getting an SEC "cast off" would certainly not be a bad thing! I like the possibilities of this QB situation: SR Rodgers JR Nicely and Moore SO Potts (if not moved to S) FR Pohl and D'Orazio (if not moved to S) Figure 1 guy with 1 year of eligibity, 2 guys with 2 years and, most likely, 2 guys being redshirted in Pohl and D'Orazio. I just hope that Moore would be given a chance to compete for the starting position.
ZachTheZip
No coach would recruit a JUCO QB without the intention of having them compete for the starting spot right away.

But, having said that, he was clearly more of a running QB than a passing QB. He really wasn't a very accurate passer. I'll be surprised (pleasantly surprised, mind you) if D'Orazio turns into a difference-making D-1 QB in the Pro-Style set.

Dr Z
Story on Moore.Okay, let's see what kind of recruiter iCoach is going to be here at Akron. Can he out recruit Dave Christensen at Wyoming? Moore had a long meeting with Akron last Wednesday night and the recruiting process will take him to both places for a visit the next few days. The attraction to Akron for Moore is that former Notre Dame quarterback Ron Powlus is the quarterbacks coach there. "He coached with Charlie Weis at Notre Dame and was Jimmy Clauson's quarterbacks coach so that's what attracted me to Akron," Moore said. "He's had a good history." Moore's services could be a good fit for a program needing a good quarterback and has received some good marks with recruiting services. According to Yancy Porter of Scout.com, Moore has increased his arm strength and his footwork has improved while at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. I wonder how good his receivers and offensive line were at MGCCC?

No doubt this will be a nice recruiting test for iCoach and Powlus. I sure hope a gulf coast guy like Clayton realizes it's generally not this miserable up here this time of year (if he does happen to visit over the next few days). Of course if he's considering Laramie, then this is probable a moot point. I wonder if there's an available "Tonto" out there at wide receiver? You beat me to it. Updating the list. RB/WR/KR who can play out of the Wildcat... maybe our version of Josh Cribbs? That's 15 verbals so far, with only 10 spots remaining. Not much room left for this to be a class "heavy on JUCOs", since all 15 committs are coming from high school. Should be an interesting QB battle this spring and fall, to say the least. Rodgers, Nicely, Potts, D'Orazio, and Pohl could all be duking it out and adding a JUCO to that mix isn't out of the question, either. Well, Ianallo does like to take players away from their best position and put them somewhere else. Sorry, it was just too tempting! Seriously, though, nice get on that Cincy kid. Small, but beating out UC and at least 3 MAC schools is solid recruiting.
