I want a bowl mostly for the seniors. After all the crap they've been through, I'd imagine they'd be ecstatic going to any bowl game. Hope it happens

If we go 6-6 we have a reasonably good chance at a bowl game. A victory in that game would put us at 7-6, the most wins for the Zips in almost ten years. It would also be our first bowl victory ever. This can still be a year in which a large step forward is taken by the program.

One thing I've leaned from observing college football in 2015 - It is no longer about filling a stadium. It is about getting on Television. Most of the non-major bowls will be played in front of minimal crowds. But the sponsors will get their 3.5 hour commercial. And their numerous mentions on ESPN prior to the game. And everyone's bowl office pool will give the casual fan a reason to watch Akron play Troy on a Wednesday night, and the people in Vegas will have some football to bet on. Hey...if the Zips basketball team can put up a banner for a CIT loss, then what can't the football team get excited for a berth in the "Mexico Organ Harvester Bowl™"?

Ha Ha! Good thing we're not playing UMass in basketball and Southern Cal in football.

One more win and we can go to a bowl.

Calm down, akronzips71. The police report clearly states "Investigation Pending." Whether or not police file charges after their investigation is completed, a violation of the student conduct code may still have been committed. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But this appears to be a serious charge not to be taken lightly. I expect a thorough investigation by both the police and UA, with both parties and witnesses given opportunities to present their sides. We have so little actual information available to us that none of us can come to any intelligent conclusions. Speculation is counterproductive when it just ends up with two sides each trying to throw the worst possible scenario at the other.

You are absolutely correct. First of all, you assume this is a DV incident. Just because it involves a man and a woman, does not make it that. Maybe they were arguing over a bad debt. This has not been revealed. Second, THAT is a double standard. A 6' D1 Female BB star could kick my butt in a minute. I know Tree is quite a bit bigger, but the point is, very often in these situations the woman gives as good as she gets. She is probably no shrinking violet and probably smacked him right back (or first). Which may well be why no arrest was made. Suspend them both, or suspend neither, at least until the issue is resolved by an impartial person. Wrong to just punish him.

For the love of gawd, the Steelers have the best WR in the league and a top QB, and the stupid play resulted in a turnover against the lowly Jets. It's a stupid play that I can't wait until the NFL adapts out. T minus whenever and counting...
