  1. Yeah not to beat a dead horse but I don't even bother watching these let alone attending them. I mean if nothing's going on I'll watch online, but the days of planning around games are over. I like to support my alma mater but at the end of the day, I watch basketball for entertainment and this isn't entertaining.

  2. Mario Moody was a baller. Other than that, BC was who we thought they were. And, they've beaten SC State. So be prepared for another 3-point Hoist-a-thon, 20+ point blowout on December 30th. At least Robotham is getting some extended game time to work his knee back into shape without risking a loss. But I'm officially tired of the cupcakes. Next to filling InfoCision, maybe Larry Williams #2 responsibility can be forcing an upgrade to the OOC home schedule.

  3. I would agree. If Bowden were to leave in the next few years Moorhead should be one of the first people called to be the new Zip head coach. He did great things at Fordham and now is in one of the top OC jobs in the country.

  4. Joe Moorhead to Penn State Congrats to Joe! One of the all-time best fan-friendly coaches (OC under Brookhart) in Zips football history.

  5. http://www.ohio.com/editorial/meet-the-expectations-for-ua-soccer-1.642398 since I live in TN, I normally only look at the Beacon sport pages on line so I missed this op ed column. A friend e-mailed this to me a few days after it was published. This was published on the Sunday that the zips played Rutgers. I wanted to wait until the season was over to post. I really liked the nuances that the writer picked up...with positive comments about players like Andrew Souders and Victor Souto for not ever being out of position...and for regaining possession and playing defense. The players and the coaches should be very proud of their outstanding achievements this year.

  6. I believe he can still get redshirted if his only action was a few minutes in the 3rd game of the year

  7. Yes. Well-written and well-deserved article. Looking at the woulda-shoulda-coulda at this point does no good. Just take the lessons learned and hunger into the next season and do even better. Hopefully, all of our key underclassmen return, others on the squad progress and step up, and the recruiting class fills in the gaps. Now that Jared has proven we can continue to compete at the top level, our fan base needs to get back on board with attendance this team deserves at every game. GO ZIPS! Edit: I did email Marla again today thanking her for this article and noting that our hometown newspaper should be proud and onboard with us like this.

  8. It was good seeing Kwan having a great game. KD indicated that he had been in the gym all week and it showed in this game. He made an effort to attack the basket and showed some nice moves in the paint. After making a couple of baskets in the paint, he then made 2 of 3 three pointers. He played with intensity. Not sure why it took him 8 games to realized we need him to attack the basket rather than stand behind the 3 line and take threes. Most importantly, no turnovers. I really enjoyed watching him play tonight and hope to see this type of play in the future.
