According to the Akron Football Facebook page, Jim Donovan was in Akron doing some interviews with Jatavis Brown, Cody Grice & Coach Bowden regarding the NFL Draft. No information about when it might air. Keep your eyes peeled.

I think some of us understand that UA is trying to improve the schedule, but at the same time, I can't understand the pi$$y attitude towards fans wanting that stronger schedule or challenging the credibility of statements about things like UA joining the ACC or questioning UA turning down $60K to play. It's a DISCUSSION based forum, not an "I'll take my keyboard and go home now" forum because you're somehow offended by the other side of the discussion.

To summarize, ACC schools do not return Akron's call, turn them down if they do, and a loss to Akron could result in the firing of their head coach. Despite that, these schools were close to inviting Akron to join their conference? We're "idiots" not to believe that?

This is so silly, and adds nothing to the discussion. The truth is, you have no idea how, and to what level that most of us are connected to our Athletic Program. How could you know that?

Teams worried about losing to Akron. I love it....some people really believe that. Akron has ZERO big wins in their school history, yet the reason they can't get a road game is because they are worried that they will become the first school to lose to Akron. Comedy relief is always good for this time of year. Akron couldn't even get by an extremely weak OSU team in the NIT. Give me a break..

IMHO I believe our primary focus should be on scheduling name P5 schools, even if they're only known for football (Nebraska, Penn State, Michigan), to do something... anything... to spark more local interest in the team. The program is currently in a rut. A high rut, to be sure, but a rut nonetheless.

Hello Zip Fans. I am new to this board because of a need to post a correction. It has come to my attention that there is a post regarding the recipient of the Courage Award at this years banquet. The winner was indeed Ashley K from Kent, but the facts posted about her on this board are inaccurate. Ashley is NOT the girl that sits with the band on the floor at the Kent games and Ashley was NEVER sent over to heckle our team / fans. Ashley is a beautiful, young woman and sits in the stands with her grandparents. They are season ticket holders for KSU. Ashley is as sweet as pie and has developed a very endearing friendship with Keith. I felt the need to post this correction as Ashley deserves to be shining in the bright light that she deserves Moderators, could you kindly delete the inaccurate post made by GoZips?
