2 of the young men in the front row.....are hunting a 2nd star
I realize a player's pro career impacts the status of their college career. I think Jatavis' college career is more impressive than Jason's already. If JB can carve out a legitimate NFL career, I think he goes to GZOAT in a lot of people's books. I think it is safe to say that JT is secure in his title of GPZOAT, though.
Does that make sense?
I haven't had time to post here about media day. The thing that caught me in a few of Terry's interviews was when he was asked about the losses we had at o-line. He said "the guys here are very athletic and we have depth. This year's line will be better than last years."
Yesterday he was asked about being voted to finish 3rd in the east. He responded by saying in order to be ahead of BG and Ohio than we need to beat BG and Ohio. He went on to say it was never a dream to be voted pre-season coach of the year. You want to be coach of the year when the season is done.
I think you're right. That's why we have to sacrifice some of these games and go on the road for some opportunities to knock off some teams that WOULD matter to the casual fan. That's the only solution.
Let's not get carried away with calling American and Georgia Southern "excellent" mid-majors. American was 12-19 last year and ranked No. 302 in the KenPom rankings (below Bethune-Cookman). Georgia Southern (14-17) was a little better at 199, and at least it's a Sun Belt school.
Hopefully, both will be improved this year.

"I'm happy to be recognized as one of the favorites heading into the season," Zips' head coach Jared Embick commented. "I hope this creates excitement around our team in the community and with our students and fans. The expectations with this ranking will only push us to be better as we have one goal and that is to be No. 1 at the end of the season."
+1
+1 I don't ever remember him getting swallowed. If he didn't get the tackle he was always right there about to. Everyone that came to the games with me would say " if someone gets tackled with the ball #1 is right there."
