  1. Have to imagine Dambrot expected something better than a 2-7 UTEP team when he agreed to play in this. Irvine, despite not being good actually has some size. Their starting C is 7'2 255 and they have a 6'10 320 pounder on their bench. Akron might actually need to run some offensive plays to get open looks instead of relying solely on Big Dog drawing the constant double team.

  2. Yes, Marshall did a good job of making that extra interior pass for easy baskets. It was a little frustrating to watch. I've also always been a little puzzled why our out-of-bounds plays from the baseline are always a lob to Big Dog. We did the same thing for several years with Zeke. A lot of people see this and wonder why. I was happy to see Noah scoring like that last night. I could see from the start of the season that he was looking to shoot the ball much more this year in the offensive sets. It makes me wonder how much his injury recovery last year limited his movement, which caused him to struggle to get open looks. He appears to have so much more ability to contribute points on the offensive end.

  3. Well someone has to complain. After all this is ZNO! So here goes. We have way too many turnovers. We do not protect the ball. Passing especially under pressure was not acceptable. The whole team needs to improve here. Big Dog played like he had somewhere else to go. He seemed bothered to play D as he repeatedly left his man who then ended up on the end of 2 points. (End of rant) Qwan played a well balanced game. He was in my doghouse last year because he wouldn't rebound, but this year he has turned that around. Noah was outstanding and Ivy showed continued flashes of brilliance. I'm still waiting to see him play a total game, but I love his potential. Also love Hughes intensity. He will be a key player soon. Wish the fans would support this team. With Dayton getting over 10,000 during break and 12,000 when school is in session i don't understand why we are getting 2,000 for a fun game against the Herd. BTW, wish they were back in the MAC.

  4. Was nice to see the band playing during Winter break. Usually, they aren't around.

  5. Wow, that was an entertaining game. Marshall sure runs the floor and moves the ball. If they have one or two even average big men, they could be really dangerous. They will win a lot of games. Zips did a nice job on Elmore. Antino didn't do a lot offensively, but really worked hard on Elmore. I really liked the surprise 2-3 zone the Zips threw in there unexpectedly. It seemed to catch Marshall a little by surprise too. We also handled the 1-2-2 press pretty well. Nice rebound after the tough ones against Creighton and Gonzaga.
