I wish Akron would put out a statement on who has joined our program at this time (for the Spring semester). Very nice of Pitt to engage their soccer fans by keeping them informed. Ever since our previous Zips Mens Soccer SID, Paul Warner, left, we don't seem to get nearly as much news about our team. Is there some hidden cost in posting a press release to GoZips.com that prohibits UA from putting out too many? I like President Wilson's comments to the city club about UA being family; how about keeping the family informed? Part of building and maintaining a fan base is to engage them in more than just the game day experience.3 points

If you are on twitter, please like Terry's tweet. Make him feel that Zips stories will be well received. The guy has 47K followers (mostly) in NE Ohio. We can use more good publicity from him.2 points

I compiled the average attendance numbers for MBB, WBB, Football and MSoc (well...the four sports we generally follow the most here at ZN.O) so here are graphs, and data tables with a brief statistical analysis of them. Feel free to use any of these for any discussion. There is already a Marketing thread where attendance frequently comes up, along with an Attendance thread. Instead of rehashing in several different threads, I thought I'd just open a new thread dedicated to the data and graphs themselves. Limitations: (1) There are limitations to the data I have access to through the NCAA's website. Data for football is only available 2003-2016 (13 years). So I used this time frame in order to compile all analysis. Therefore, the historical context is limited, though I am confident in saying that the past 13-years of attendance at UA sporting events is probably the most relevant to any particular discussion or debate we may have here. Enjoy Improvements: It would be awesome to have student attendance data, as well as to add more of a historical context. Hopefully this will serve as a framework to expand upon later. Zips Football Graph 1 There is definitely a decline in attendance over time. The possibly concerning part is the decline in attendance year-to-year in the "non-inflated" years as opposed to a rather steep increase in the "inflated" years. "Inflated" and "Non-Inflated" is based upon the running assumption here in ZN.O that the university will pad attendance stats every other year which can be seen in year by year stats. Zips Men's Basketball Very Interesting observation here, attendance seems to go in roughly three year waves, cycling between a high and low. There does seem to be an attendance increase overtime, even if it's just in ticket sales. Zips Women's Basketball This data I would also consider unreliable. There's not much data to go from, because the NCAA website does have year-by-year stat records, but they sometimes include all schools, sometimes don't include all schools. Really wonky, and I don't really care to dig through it all to discover why. With that said it does evidently increase over time. Zips Men's Soccer This Data is very unreliable. The R-squared value was included because it's very close to 0, so the correlation between the data isn't that great. There seems to be a trend, but beyond the year's depicted there's not much we can tell. Attendance Records for NCAA D-1 soccer are not easy to come by on their website, I had to compile a lot of this by articles published by the NCAA talking about the "best" years in D-I Men's Soccer attendance. Though it is interesting to note, we are usually in the top-ten for soccer attendance.1 point

Romeo Travis is my second choice, if I'm given a choice. My Romeo box is a little rough because the night that I received it I kicked it down the bleacher steps when I jumped up quickly to celebrate an exciting basket.1 point

Or maybe we should look at offering more talented players from the state championship team that plays literally one mile from Infocision Stadium.1 point

We can get differing opinions about how disappointed we are about attendance. But when I see images like this after our biggest game thus far this season, and see all of the empty seats, it's embarrassing to me.1 point

In the Tuesday pregame interview KD said Mike was still "a couple weeks away". Which obviously isn't good news. Between praying for world peace, a cure for cancer and Big Dog/Kwan staying healthy I don't know which comes first? All are highly important.1 point

Agreed. This is a statement game. EMU's gonna be coming for blood. If we can handle EMU convincingly we should have tremendous swag for every game remaining on our schedule. I'm worried about Noah & Josh not matching up well w/ EMU's athletic guards. Any word on Big Mike's back? He's losing valuable development PT & by this point he's gonna be out of shape once KD does put him in the game. We're gonna need Big Mike to give us quality minutes to win the 3-games-in-3-days in Cleveland.1 point

Eastern has as much individual talent as anybody in the MAC. Probably our biggest threat in Cleveland, we need to send a message Friday. Thompson vs Big Dog in the paint. Can't wait to see this one.1 point

^^The MAC should begin scheduling cross-divisional games during the week and divisional games on the weekends. We've got some pretty intense rivalries with Ohio, Buffalo, and Kant. We should never play those games on a Tuesday night.1 point

Kwan is eating him up. He is really taking his game to another level. The bounce he has in his legs is making the difference. Dog is carving up OU in the 2nd half.1 point
