  1. Great win by the Zips in SB! Akron fan contingent was small: me & and a U.A. alum who lives in Los Angeles (& who was also at the 2 previous Zips @ Gauchos games), and family of Niko De Vera (dad from Portland & aunts & cousins from Los Angeles & San Diego). We needed you there Z.I.P.! From my vantage point, Zips dominated play most of the match. All goals (except the PK) were scored at the far end from where we were sitting, so I did not get a good look at any of them Zips look to me like a team that could put together a strong season. 2. Marcel Zajac is the offensive MVP, but Moutinho looks like a pro in the back! Is he really a freshman?

  4. Pretty good student attendance at this game. As some have said some true freshman are playing. Brimage ought to keep his head in the game, however, at least when the defense is on the field. I saw Boxen calling him in and DeAndre was nowhere to be found till it was very late on the play clock. That's what causes penalties. On the other hand, Davis had a nice game at D/E and Warren Ball is a joy to watch.

  5. Thought student attendance was better than normal. Looked to have 2 sections right next to the band completely full plus the others scattered throughout the stadium.

  6. So far in the first 2 games the following true freshman have gotten playing time: Meeks, Williams, Burkhart, Brimage, and Sampson. Seems like more than freshman than usual. I like how Sampson looked on that series. Came away with the sack. edit: add Kobie Booker to the list.

  7. Yeah, no offense to Robbie Kelley, but I think at this point I'd like to see Kato get as much reps as he can now that he has established himself at the #2 and the future.

  8. Giving Kato a quarter and a half of reps is invaluable.

  9. I don't think you can really tell because we have gone from one end of the talent extreme to the other. I don't see the alleged "noodle arm" that got some so upset last week, though. I see issues with receivers.

  10. The stoppages for flags and media time outs make the game hard to watch.
