  1. Parrish is really the sleeper of the squad. He, Daniel, and Jimond are going to be super awesome next year. And hopefully, they won't have to play 35+ minutes per game and will have a couple big players inside who will assist them rather than hinder them. Occasionally, I would see Jimond telling KLac and Patton where to go and what to do. While Big Dog slowed the game down a bit, the guards/forwards never had to tell him where to be, he had those amazing hands especially the final season, didn't make turnovers, and had those eyes that could find the open man.

  2. I'd love to see Malcolm as a grad assistant next year as he finishes up his master's.

  3. I'm right with ya on this. I'd like to thank Malcolm personally for (whatever reason - how DID Groce get him to come here???) his massive contribution to this years team. His calmness during games helped this young team tremendously. I'd hate to think of this years team playing a couple more frosh in place of Malcolm. I hope his decision to play for the Zips is compensated by allowing him to get his Masters from Akron.

  5. This team has ran out of gas and not been great in clutch situations all year. I was at Q and never felt comfortable. Wish I knew what Groce said to get that Tech. He was definitely walking away. Thought the T on Ivey was bad and was the true turning point. Tough to win a game when your turning the ball over against the press or get into your offense with 15 seconds left on the shot clock. That's a recipe for disaster going against a quality zone. Needed better playmaking/decision making from our 5th year Sr. Agree with the statement that Patton probably should've played more during the final min. Very bullish on the future of this team. Groce really had the frosh playing hard.

  6. I expected an up and down season this year and that is what we saw. We hired a new coach, had a depleted roster coming into the season and had to rely on Freshman way more than any team would like to. That being said, I think the future is bright. Lot's of experience for the young players and a year of learning the system for all the transfers that came in. Looking forward to the next few seasons for sure!

  7. Really glad he's staying-- UA does not need any more churn. It was definitely disappointing that he was looking to jump so soon, but his explanation of wanting to be back in Orlando made sense. However, I do hope he refrains from tossing his hat in the ring for any other positions for the next 2-3 years. UA needs that time for the 'scar' to heal...

  8. I heard some innuendo about that as well. Maybe it's a holdover from their point-shaving scandal and NCAA probation. However, I think I can overlook that for a day because I really want to see SUNY Canada sent packing to the NIT. It's been almost 40 years since Toledo made it to the NCAA. Time for them to get a chance at it.

  10. The real losers: the shooting contestants that will continue to go against President Wilson during the timeout promotion.

  14. I feel good about the Team, and the program. I have zero expertise. I am just an Alum and a fan. I yearn for the day we can win an NCAA tournament game! And be in the Saturday night game at the Q consistently. Thanks Guys! Looking forward to next Season!!!

  15. The morning after, I gotta say that was one incredible game, to see how far this team has come, and see the big game experience that a lot of our building blocks got. And the simple fact that we weren't suppose to be here. An 11 seed beating WMU by a point, then dominating the 3 seed for much of the game. Fatigue and inexperience caught up with them. The refs didn't help either. I don't think the league (or the broadcasters) wanted a 6-12 program muddying up the final four. It's hard (but not impossible) for me to blame the coach, he didn't miss any buckets in the last seven minutes. He may have looked better calling different strategies for a team that was inexperienced in big games and looked gassed, but I'm not sure KD or anyone else could have made those late shots go in. I'll wait to see him with a full roster before driving him to the airport. We knew this would be a long painful season. We returned what, five players? Now the rebuild can begin.

  16. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around the fact that we play one senior, one junior and one sophomore. Crazy! All things considered, we overachieved. Proud of these guys! Go Zips!
