  1. Poor guy seems to have hit his ceiling. Just can not seem to break the 35 point barrier. Along with a paltry 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Is this the end of his career?

  2. Great win! Did not expect us to pull away at the end, but LCJ willed it to reality. Finish strong, beat OU and KSU, and win the whole damn thing and get back to the dance!

  3. I do actually feel bad that he's not getting the local/regional attention he deserves. The kid is must-see TV, and hell all these fans of basketball in Northeast Ohio can make a short drive to see him in person for just a few bucks, yet there will be plenty of empty seats on Tuesday, hopefully none on Friday. For the lack of attention/press the TEAM gets, the lack of attention Cristian gets himself is sad. I remember when Porrini from Kent had that big year in 2011, he wasn't MVP material, but he made a lot of big plays and was fun to watch. The local media in Portage county were all over it and it created hype. That kind of thing is nonexistent here.

  4. The Zips welcome old friend Jeff Boals and his 15-14 squad into the JAR Tuesday nght. The kittens are fresh off of solid home wins against Canada and Brimfield A & T after losing to BG by a point. Boals and his staff appear to be making progress in Athens. 6'4 sophomore guard Jason Preston leads the team at 16.3 ppg. 6'8' sophomore forward Ben Vander Plas scores 15.5 ppg while leading the team at 6.8 rpg. SVSM grad freshmen guard Lunden McDay continues a fine freshman season for the Kittens. They are 7th in the MAC on offense and 5th in defense. The Zips squeaked by the kittens 88-86 at Athens on January 25th behind 35 from LCJ.

  6. Remember when O-Who was good, and we'd have to suffer through listening to their "O (clap clap clap clap clap clap) H (clap clap clap clap clap clap) I (clap clap clap clap clap clap) O (clap clap clap clap clap clap)" chant over and over and over again? Me too. Then their coach left and now he's ours and their entire fan base is in meltdown mode over it. It's wonderful. I'm expecting a big game from Cheese.

  7. This is good and I concur. I enjoy our rivalries with OU and UB. I respect both schools. Kent, on the other hand... I simply wish that school didn't exist.

  8. I'm going to be feeling dirty cheering for Kent Tuesday. I may have to take a shower after the game to wash the filth off of me.

  9. This team really showed us something today. I think many of us were worried. We were on the road, against a team we have struggled with and we were without our 2nd leading scorer. This would have been an easy one to chalk up as a loss. Down the stretch, this team made play after play on both sides of the ball. This kind of effort will travel very well to the Field House (I still want to say the "Q").

  11. A lot of that had to do with the volume number of shots Akron missed. It's easier to secure a defensive rebound than it is an offensive one.

  12. Love our rivalries with Buffalo, Kent, and Ohio. It's pretty awesome having 3 sincere, bitter rivals.

  13. Groce should be coach of the year.
