  1. I feel it should be noted that Northern Illinois gets the vast majority of their recruits from the Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin area and they consistently compete at the top of the MAC. None of those states are listed in the top 10 above. Texas, California, Georgia, Florida all are known for producing top end recruits so those states are also the most heavily recruited. I feel Illinois/Wisconsin/Minnesota area is a place we can look to get a couple top end MAC recruits that fall through the cracks per year.
  2. The Ken+ board doesn't seem anymore excited about this game. https://csnbbs.com/thread-869976.html
  3. @LZIp, would you mind updating your scholarship chart whenever you have some spare time? I'm interested to see what the roster looks like after all these signings.
  4. I feel an interesting piece of information that I heard from the video, but wasn't include in Captains breakdown is that we only had 5 scholarships DBs before this recruiting class. I see we signed 7 DBs to scholarships in this class so now we're at 12 total. That still doesn't seem like a whole lot of depth, especially if you account for the fact a couple of the incoming freshmen might not be ready to play this year. Captain mentioned we still have some scholarships left for future use. I wonder if we're exploring the possibility of adding a grad transfer to the defensive backfield.
  5. Showcasing how terrible MAC officials are.
  6. I was listening to 1350 yesterday and they said Arth was going to be a guest today. I'm not sure on the time he's slated to appear.
  7. From what I've seen we've won a handful of really nice recruiting battles. Hayes-Patrick and Corey Thomas are the 6th and 8th highest grade 247 has ever given to a Zips recruit. They've been tracking recruiting since the early 2000s. The class as a whole currently ranks 10th in the MAC, but that's more to do with the lack of depth in the class. As a whole I feel Arth has done a good job salvaging this recruiting class the best he could. https://247sports.com/player/quevan-lawson-46039289/
  8. Not that I want Riak taking 3's, but I find it strange the past couple games he's taken some contested 3's, but has no desire to shoot it when left open.
  9. His offer sheet looks really good. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Adetutu-Daranijo-93549/RecruitInterests/
  10. 247 has been compiling rankings since around 2005. Hayes-Patrick has the 6th highest grade ever for an Akron recruit since that time. Thomas has the 8th highest grade. Akron's class still isn't graded highly because it lacks depth due to a late start and many players already being signed in the early signing period. I'm excited to see what Arth can do with a full recruiting cycle. https://247sports.com/college/akron/Sport/Football/AllTimeRecruits/
  11. I thought we looked good in the 2nd half when we were able to get out and run. The problem is Toledo quit missing so we were forced to play a half court game down the stretch. I really don't think there is a good solution to fix the half court offense. I'd like to see us Cheese more at the point. He seemed to create some offense for both himself and other. Perhaps taking some of the ball handling duties away from LCJ will set him up to get better looks. He seems to be trying to do too much at times.
  12. Toledo had no answer for Cheese but we got away from what worked
  13. Keep pushing it. Let's get into the bonus.
  14. I'd have to say that was the worst half of offense I've seen from the Zips this season. I didn't know it was possible for our offense to regress anymore. I was wrong.
  15. Akron's offense makes any teams defense look good. Not hard to defend when we would the Ball and try to play hero ball and we have a C that can't catch a pass.
  16. Our half court offense is non-existent. Do we even have any plays or do we just wing it?
  17. This is the worst MAC broadcast I've seen all season.
  18. It wouldn't surprise me if we're saving a scholarship or two and letting these pwo know they will have an opportunity to earn it in camp.
  19. I know the Zips have played at a slower pace all season, but Toledo's biggest weakness is athleticism. I'd like to see the Zips push the ball off of rebounds and turnovers and see if it can lead to some easy points in transition.
  20. This is great news. We should have a nice stable of backs now. Alce, White, and Hayes-Patrick were all 3* recruits. I've kind of felt O-line has been the issue the past few years as anyone we had back there trying to carry didn't have much success. Hopefully we see some improvements on the o-line to open up some running lanes.
  21. 7 FBS offers if I counted correctly. That would seem like a nice get.
  22. I can understand this logic. We have 3 tough games coming up @Toledo, vs. Kent, and vs. Buffalo. If we go 1-2 or worse during that stretch, I'll probably adopt this philosophy. If we go 2-1 or better, I'm going to continue holding out hope that we can win the MAC.
  23. Also, given our late start in recruiting and a new staff taking over, I wouldn't be surprised if we take a couple of transfers that fit the schemes of our new offensive and defensive coordinators.
  24. He did play a few games, but from what I understand it he had some back issues so they decided to just red shirt him.
