When I graduated in 2012 there was a shuttle already that picked kids up at exchange dorms and dropped them off at the student union. It came every 15-20 minutes. It's not specifically for the games. It did it throughout the entire course of the day until 10 or 11 at night. I imagine the same service still exists.

The stands seemed much fuller than other homes games (Kent excluded). I'm guessing there were just much fewer STH no shows for this game compared to others. I would have definitely liked to have seen a larger GA attendance obviously, but I was surprised to see how empty the student section was for this game. Did the university not get the memo out that Akron was facing a ranked opponent or is apathy among students just that bad? They had a great turn out for the Kent game. I would have been happy if we could have gotten half that amount for this game.

Our next two games are @Ball State & @BGSU. I can live with losing the BGSU game as we're currently 3 back from them with only 7 games left. The game we really need is Ball State. With a loss they would slide 1 game behind us and own the tie-breaker. The season hasn't gone the way Ball State expected, but they still have some talent and are more than capable of going on a run given their weak remaining MAC schedule. It's just best for us to bury them that way we don't have to worry about them for seeding.

Yeah, I think those got left out of the ESPN box score for whatever reason. As did the 2 offensive boards that corresponded to those put back attempts. 4/7 from the field is still good.
-
Not that this is saying much but I actually thought this was Riak's best offensive game of MAC play. He went 4/5 from the field with 8 points. I'll take that from my center. What I'm surprised to see noone mention is that I, from my seat in the bleachers, scored as many points as our entire bench tonight. I did that while taking 4 fewer shots. Banks looked like a really good 3 and D guy early on in the season. With Roscoe and Pokie not being big offensive factors, he needs to be a spark off the bench. With our thin bench we're going to be exposed in Cleveland where you have to win 3 games in 3 days. I think we're a year away.

Took the words out of my mouth about attendence. It should be noted about 10 of those FT are from us intentionally fouling to extend the game.
-
Announced attendence was ~2700. That's embarassing considering this was a top 25 opponent. I'm glad it was on ESPN+ and not on cable.
-
Made it close at the end, but big difference in the is they made 82% pf their free throws. We made 56%.

I knew LCJ was going to put up that contested 3 as soon as it was passed to him. Down 6 you need to work for better shots.
-
Cheese playing hero ball is the only offense we've had in the 2nd half. We need to get some stops. Hard to go on a run when they're matching us bucket for bucket.
-
I like that Riak has been active on the offensive glass and has tried to get some put backs. Someones got to hit some shots or this is going to quickly turn into a 20 point deficit.
-
I would have liked to have seen us attack more when we got them in foul trouble. Overall I liked the effort. Lets see if we can play with the same effort in the 2nd half and get some shots to fall.

You forgot score more points than Buffalo.
-
My keys to victory. 1) Limit fast break points 2) Limit Buffalo to 1 shot per possession 3) Don't miss every open 3 like we typically do

Personally, I'd like it and I feel it makes a lot of sense for both programs. Both teams seem to have trouble attracting decent quality teams OOC to their respective home arenas. The cities are also two hours apart so it makes for an easy bus ride and wouldn't require a hotel stay, saving both teams money. Dambrot won't agree to it as I imagine he still wants to recruit the Akron area hard and one of his selling points would be that the A-10 is a better conference and that Duquesne is therefore a more elite program. Scheduling a home and home would be a sign that both programs are on equal footing, which they pretty much are, but Dambrot won't admit that.
-
If they win @ Toledo Friday, I feel that affords them the opportunity to lose another game somewhere along the way in the regular season plus once in the tourney.
-
What's hurting Buffalo is the quality teams they beat OOC are beginning to look not so quality. What was 3 really great wins now looks like 1. WVU - 2-9 in Big 12 Syracuse - Is actually still doing quite well at 8-3 in ACC USF - Lost 3 of last 4 games, including losing by 30 to Gonzaga

I would be much more concerned if it was a reoccurring leg injury. I'm by no means a medical expert, but I wouldn't see why a broken wrist would cause long-term issues. What I'm more concerned about is that he appears to be sidelined the remainder of the year which kills our depth. Also, I'm not sure when he'll be able to resume full practice. I think he has displayed some decent footwork near the basket. His issue has just been his inability to finish once he gets into position. It's kind of hard to get a feel for touch when you can't practice shooting.

How bad of a driver do you have to be to get pulled over 8 times? That's insane.

Eugene German of NIU, the 2nd leader scorer in the MAC, has been suspended indefinitely. Apparently he's been arrested on two different occasions in 2019 for driving on a suspended license. https://www.daily-chronicle.com/2019/02/09/niu-basketball-with-german-suspended-indefinitely-huskies-fall-at-eastern-michigan/dempipr/

Doesn't every team control their own destiny? Even 0-10 WMU, however improbable, could still win the MACT and punch their ticket to the big dance.
-
It was good PR for him too. His reputation got drug through the mud do to that rebate scandal his company faced and his meddling reputation as a Browns owner. Buying the Crew to keep them in Ohio helped establish him as a person who cares about Ohio even though he's not from the area. Much like how Dan Gilbert has been adopted by the city for helping the revitalization of downtown.
-
There are only 8 teams and outside of the commanders each conference is bunched. I imagine a lot of this has to do with them limiting travel costs. I wouldn't be surprised is they eventually expand into Ohio as (if) the league grows. The city they would add a team would be Columbus and the stadium they would play in would be the new Columbus Crew stadium once it's built. Akron is too small of a city and Jimmy Haslam owns the Columbus Crew and many speculate the reason he bought the Crew is because he wants to grow the Browns presence in the area, including maybe moving spring training there. Having a Browns affiliate in Columbus for him is a no brainer.
-
I'm a fan of whatever gives Akron a 1st round bye and has us avoiding UB until at least the final.

Eubanks was too. Apparently Antino and Eubanks gave the players a talk before the game.
