Who were the other schools behind?
-
St. Paul school for the blind
-
That's good for UMass, but Boston College is pretty much a mid-major masquerading as a P5.

Michigan fired Sherrone for cause. Rumors on the internet is he had an affair with someone on staff and knocked them up. Time will tell if accurate. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2025/12/10/michigan-football-sherrone-moore-scandal-fired-for-cause-violation-university/87707335007/

College basketball is a tough sell for much of the country. Most don't seem to care much about it until February/March when the tournament is approaching. Heck even the NBA I hear people joke that the season doesn't really start until Christmas day.
-
Probably more fitting for the keyboard warriors demanding change on football threads.
-
That would have been against a ranked Illinois as well so it's not like it was against Nobody U.

This is kind of where I stand. I feel we've find ourselves out of position a lot on defense. Fortunately for us our opponents haven't made us pay (other than Yale). Hopefully this game provides for some good teaching moments for Groce and we can come out with a win. I expect a tightly contested game.
-
They will just count as regular season games and not a MTE. We've played in that Don Haskins 4 team tournament that UTEP hosts while also playing in a proper MTE in the same year multiple times. We would just have to sacrifice an additional home game to play 2 neutral court games instead of 1 in that type of scenario.

I guess I'll be sitting this one out, which is fine. I have some holiday shopping I need to get done. I'll just listen to it on the radio while I'm out and about.
-
The way I see it is they would be a near lock to win the ACC almost any year. They certainly would finish ahead of Tulane or any other G5 school. Of course they might now have competition with Franklin at Virginia Tech. But you're right the B1G makes more sense. I just said ACC as they already house their other sports there.
-
Correct, if they were in the ACC they would have had a 13th game and almost certainly a spot in the field.
-
No disagreement from me there. We haven't seen the impact of the increase to 105 scholarships yet, but we will soon enough.

My evaluation on Miami is based off of last year and what they returned from that team. I agree they haven't accomplished anything significant this year given their schedule. Yes, I'm not discrediting UB. I just didn't see them keeping up that level of play as the season progresses. Not to say they couldn't prove me wrong.
-
I was kind of expecting UB to slide. Still a good year for them if they end up being the 4th or 5th best MAC team, but I never really thought they were better than Miami.

To go along with that I also feel talent is more disbursed. Before programs like OSU, Alabama, Georgia, etc were hoarding all the talent before. Now a school like Texas A&M can come in and offer those kids who were 2nd or 3rd stringers at Alabama before both playing time and as much, if not more, money to start for them.
-
No man Joe is the only thing wrong with the program. Ignore the decades of ineptitude. Any other coach would have won 10+ games with this schedule. The administration doesn't matter, only the coach according to you. Good try though...
-
We don't have to be the SEC. @Captain Kangaroo shared how far we lagged behind other MAC programs in staffing. Being able to have just have enough money to fill out our coaching staffing to the level of our peers and having a little money to recruit with would be a good start.

Most talented offensively for sure. I feel there is still a lot to be worked on defensively. We don't seem to be great defensively in the half-court when we face teams that don't turn the ball over. Tulane started something like 1-11 from 3, but at least 5-6 of those misses there wasn't a Zips defender within 8 feet. Those are shots a better team will knock down. We need to work better on being quicker on our defensive rotations and not being out of position. I'm not saying this to be nitpicky. The 3-point line is the great equalizer and if we don't correct it someone will capitalize.
-
They mix in some nice graphics and stuff throughout. If I didn't know better I would think it was a real cable broadcast. Kudos to their production team.
-
I will say these announcers are some of the better ones I've seen on ESPN+
-
Tulane is getting a lot of open looks from 3. Fortunately for us they haven't been able to knock them down.
-
That's because you're hearing what you want to hear. You keep just saying move on from JoeMo and it will make us magically better. Others are saying we need additional resources regardless of coach. Just because someone points out that the program is underfunded doesn't mean they're saying the program can never succeed in the MAC. They're saying that if we want to have success in the future we need to find ways of increasing resources. Whether that falls on getting more donations, playing more buy games, or whatever else. Replacing a coach is just a bandaid. I'm not even opposed moving on from JoeMo. I just want there to be a plan in place for how we're going to be financially competitive with the other MAC schools. Without it you will be here in 2-3 years demanding we fire another coach.

Like you said before coaches fixes all problems. Nothing else matters. 3-peat national championship incoming. Start organizing the parade.
