I was misinformed. Steinbrecher was actually interviewed at the end, not in-between the men's and women's reviews. He's such a company man and was openly glazing the NCAA. It was pretty nauseating. I was hoping to hear something about a new MAC TV deal or something along those lines, but nothing was brought up.

Miami and Toledo probably have the most returning talent. I imagine that played a major part in coaches picking them 1 & 2. That would be my guess. I like the guys Akron brought in, but MAC coaches aren't going to be familiar with them. Especially for guys like Colin White who they have little tape on.

TBF Sendy openly admitted with the state of college basketball he was throwing darts. Said half the guys he put on All-MAC teams he's not even certain if they will be eligible given the lawsuits. Preseason ratings have never been good indicators of success, but they're especially bad this day and age.

I watched Ryan Gensler earlier, but I didn't really have any takeaways to share other than it sounds like we have less roster turnover compared to previous years. Every week I see someone try to make a claim that if 5-6 plays went different we could of won. In reality the only loss we have that we could of win is EMU. We were dog walked in the other contests.

If I recall correctly I don't think financially our football budget was as far behind the MAC as it is now. At the very least I'm pretty sure we had a full staff. Whatever coach comes in now is being asked to turn water into wine. I think it was around 2016 that Akron started hitting financial trouble. Prior to that it was just gross negligence why we failed to succeed.

Not like we can add more people to the roster in mid-October. The semester is already halfway over. We're kind of committed to the players we already have.

It just seems odd because there was at least 1 person saying that he heard he could have played against UNLV, but they didn't want to risk a further injury entering MAC play. Obviously it must have been a bit more severe than the miss 1 or 2 games that was originally led on. With FBS football pretty much functioning as a professional lite league now you would think they would require a similar injury report that the NFL does.

Just received confirmation email that the tickets are active and that I can download. I went and looked. It appears season ticket renewals come with the YSU exhibition included.

The only person I've seen claim it online is some dude on Twitter who has 3,500 followers. I'm not saying it isn't going to happen, but I need to see a more credible source before I believe it.

I honestly haven't followed college football that closely this year to weigh in. That's why I phrased it the way I did. The only game I've seen was when they played Akron and that's not a good litmus test. They could drastically be improved. I'm not going to dispute it. The bigger point I was making is Wake Forest over the last 20-30 years hasn't been a good P4 program nor was it at the time we scheduled it. It's easy to use hindsight that we should have scheduled X team instead of Y team, but you can't predict a historical bad program, like an Indiana or Wake Forest (as you're claiming), to rapidly become good.

I think we scheduled that game when Wake Forest was coming off a 4-8 season (1-7 in ACC). Both Minnesota and Wake Forest are winnable opponents for MAC teams. Wake might be a little better this year than others, we'll see, but these games are booked years in advance and rosters turnover so rapidly. It's hard to know which P4 teams will be horrendous 5 years from vs those who will just be bad to mediocre. Indiana pre vs post Cignetti is a perfect example of that. Akron nearly beat them and they were very much in the Rutgers tier of P4. Now they're defending national champs and if we played them today we' lose by 50.

The game likely paid for itself when you factor in the number of additional season tickets sold from the promotion and the Arby's sponsorship. We can't host an event like that if we didn't have an FCS team on the schedule. Was there really a noticeably more number of fans at the UNLV than there was at Robert Morris? Short of OSU or Michigan coming to Infocision, which isn't happening, I don't see a material impact of random FBS vs FCS opponent.

That Robert Morris game, between the OC promotion and actually playing well, was the only time this season I felt positive about the team. Not sure why you would want to take that away. Buffalo only beat them by 3. I don't think it's any more of a lopsided opponent than us facing JMU or UNLV. The difference is the roles are just reversed.

If I'm TBH if Akron is to lose by 25+ I'd rather just get the $1.3 million to lose to a Minnesota, Penn State, or Michigan St. than not get paid it to lose by the same margin to JMU. To anyone that went to the UNLV game, do any of you look back and view that day as a great way you spent 5-6 hours of your Saturday? Now remember JMU is at or slightly above UNLV level. If we lost that game it's no loss to me. If we were at the level of a WMU that would be a different story. We're not there and I wouldn't expect us to be by 2029.

I can't argue your logic, but if it helps my basketball team win games I'm okay with the over stepping. On a serious note, if the NCAA was proactive, reached an agreement in early April, and grandfathered in the class it would have avoided all this headache. I have defended the NCAA more than most as I mentioned they were neutered and lost most authority when it came to policing NIL/transfers, hence why congress got involved. This they just botched and clearly got wrong. I see no harm in giving the class of 2022 a 5th year and it would have been an easy win for them from a PR standpoint.
