I hope Ball State exits the MAC tourney early and painfully. If it's PCCC or Kittens or Buffalo who takes them out I don't care.

oh just stop already. Pittsburgh is two hours away. As for the Evans Lounge, I think this year or was it last year they stopped giving free food to all the VIP ticket holders. Only the top donors (and you know what a wild and wacky crowd they are) can fill up on a meal before game and during halftime. For everyone else, it's basically good for grabbing a water or maybe some popcorn at halftime. There's no real reason to be there other than to watch everyone else eat unless you want to get there 30 minutes early to listen to an asst coach AND watch everyone else eat.

http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2018/02/akron_zips_central_michigan.html Much better article. Didn't seem like that bad a crowd to me.

That would be considered a "bad" loss. Buffalo reminds me somewhat of us last year. Of course, that win by NIU means that the Zips need to stay tough and fight even harder to avoid being one of the bottom four seeds. BG didn't help us either today.
-
You guess? So you aren't quite sure if you want him and the Zips to succeed? Your last line betrayed your agenda.

2 hour drive to Pittsburgh. I was thinking the same thing both times we lost to OU and Groce in the MAC finals. Both good coaches. One left. One is here.

Wow. I was just going to write about how much I enjoy your insight. I was referring to 0510s post BTW. On a positive note, our chance of winning a 1500 jewelry item is going up if attendance wanes. The t shirt cannon to the chest was definitely symbolic.

Do you use a crystal ball or a ouiji board?

Yeah. Miami seems to be doing ok in their rebuild. But we will drive ourselves crazier than we aready are if we try to make comparisons like that. We have a passionate coach mixing with some willful players. I keep in mind that if the goal is a 19 win season and maybe a a short run in the MAC tourney each year then maybe you can let the best players run the show so you can just win enough to keep the fan base basically happy. But if this coach was hired to make something dominant and great then the harsh medicine is necessary.

It's probably a combination of everything above. Ugh it does remind me of the movie Hoosiers. The one player didn't like the sets and so he started taking quick shots. Gene Hackman benched him. Too bad we can't make all our issues better in the course of 2 hours like in the movies.

Looking forward to it. I wish my seats were on the other side of the arena so I could get a better view of the bench drama as it unfolds. On another note, these afternoon tip offs suck. I thought they might be ok, but they are a real drag at least for me.

These guys hopefully will learn that life isn't always fair and that the key to survival and success is being able to ADAPT to a new environment. That could be a new boss, a new co-worker, a new family member. A NEW COACH. NEW TEAMMATES. Maybe it's time for a new thread.

I actually got a call from the publisher after I complained about Dyer's hit piece on Groce and the hiring process last Spring. I then emailed Dyer and asked him if he bothered to call the athletic director before writing his opinion piece. I also asked him out of curiosity how he became such an expert on Zips basketball without attending any games. It went down hill from there. But now GT has a story line he can run with as we go from regular season MAC champs to regular season basement. That's the mentality you are dealing with there. They thrive on others' failures because they are failing themselves. (Oh, and the publisher was quite nice and reasonable and thought it might have been a good idea for Dyer to contact the AD. Of course, that publisher left soon after that).

Thanks, Captain, this animal lover appreciated that imagery before going to bed. Ironically, I think our Beacon coverage is going to improve because there is actually some DRAMA and a story to tell. I for one am anxious to see how this plays out on Saturday against lowly Central Michigan.

Unfortunately, Malcolm has nothing really to gain by following Groce's instructions. There's a reason I'm sure he didn't finish his career in the Pac10. He's done in a month and can get out of here. Canada strikes again.

Another exciting night in Ravenna for PCCC!

So Groce is going all Norman Dale on them..."my team is on the floor."

I'm going to go there and maybe get the rath of Skip and others but KD used up Big Dog and Kwan and left a hollowed out program. Kudos to those who stayed, but I'm sure KD knew Antino, Noah, Josh, and whoever else were on the way out. If he had a plan to stay longer he wouldn't have dialed in the recruiting like he did. Ok, got that off my chest.

Let's not feed on each other here. Everyone posting tonight is a huge Zips fan. This is all very new for everyone. We love Jimond. He stuck around when others left. Obviously, he and the Coach will need to have a come to jesus and figure this out...along with the rest of them.

I guess some of the players are sending their coach a message that they aren't too interested in his way of coaching.

I really want to say a few choice things and start laying blame and pointing fingers. What an effing nightmare. Bobcat Attack and Bull Run if you are reading this later you deserve to get a good laugh at our expense.
-
I'm just watching the ESPN page. And each Akron possession it says "Macolm Duvivier missed lay up."
-
Off to the gym. As Michael Reghi would say, "book this one to the Ohio Bobcats." I'm predicting one and done first round game at BG. BowdenBall!

2 assists, 5 turnovers, 10 fouls.
