Best news going into next year: THE ZIPS ARE KEEPING THEIR BIGGEST BASKETBALL FAN PRESIDENT WILSON!!!! His family was in the front row last night cheering really hard for the team. Phew!

This thread has some really good commentary. What 1981 says above is exactly what caused the problems last night. However, I think next year with a full roster the Zips wont need to run out the clock in order to win.

1. The first half moved at a quick pace with minimal fouls and interruptions. 2. The second half was a horrible grind. I looked at the clock around 11 minutes and thought that the Zips were going to have trouble hanging on unless this game moves faster. Then came all the fouls and technicals and reviews and blah, blah, blah. 3. When Zips were running at top form last night, I thought...maybe...they could go all the way. However, when it started to fall apart, I thought even if they hold on they weren't going to survive a Friday night game. 4. Physical and mental fatigue looked to be playing a huge part at the end. EMU has the better, more experienced players in key positions and that pulled them through in the end. 5. Eastern has a really good team. I hope they win it all.

I've literally counted 10 EMU fans and a few sad Kittens who just show up and try to relive 2012.

And Toledo fired Nick Dials!

Wasn't too bad a drive up here. And parking indoors at the Q is only $15 this year. One problem is I can't get to a restaurant because the streets are packed with EMU fans. It's a sea of green! (Rowdies should sponsor a scavenger hunt. Free pizza and beer to whoever can find and capture an Eastern fan).

Elton says Toledo is first game. The bracket says Buffalo has the first game. Is there anyone at the Q now who could tell me who is warming up? On Cleveland.com, Elton didn't trash the Zips. He said "the Zips don't care" and foul a lot. And if we are "shooting it" EMUs going to have a problem.

Absolutely!!! Did you see the video on Twitter of the players and Groce celebrating after the WMU game? It's pretty cool. Everyone is jumping around except Daniel who is sitting down with a towel over his face. Cotton pulled him out of the fire. Maybe EMUs lack of fan support, a tradition of choking in the tourney, and almost 6 days off will deliver to the Q a flat team of Hurons

I have another question, Clark. If we win on Saturday and become a 16th seed, could we be one of the teams to play in Dayton for the play-in round? Also, if Central beats Buffalo at Noon tomorrow we might be able to accomplish the rare Michigan Trifecta! And another thing: Eastern Michigan is 0-5 against the Akron Zips in the MAC Tournament. When I was looking for this, I thought this was a quarterfinal game, but it was actually a first round game at the Q. It's still a good one! Toledo was 7-25 that year.

Looked like he had it back on for the WMU game. At the Kent game, the brace was off, but at least I could tell that he was still favoring it. Patton played his best game the other night. I'm rather hoping the entire team is back for next year.

The foul on Wilder at the end which sent Cotton to the line was the exact foul called on Ivey that sent him to the bench:. Slapping the arm of the guy driving to the basket. That's consistency.

Not that old. Just a head for useless trivia. Cleveland State beat NKU... anything can happen!!! There was a long, detailed story on Cincinnati.com about the NKU loss. What did we get from the ABJ for our win? Nothing. But PCCC got a nice article for its heroic efforts in taking out the 12th seed at home!

Hate to agree but likely correct. I'm happy PCCC@ Ravenna is in the afternoon block. We don't need them turning into Hurons... I mean Eagles...for the 9pm game.

FYI: I called the University and our sections are 107 and 108. Through Travel Zoo I was able to get two 6th row seats in 109. There are some available in 108 but further back. If season ticket holder, your price is $24 but will be distributed by point level.
