Forgot about that. So happy Marshall lost early in the Sun Belt.

Players who transferred from last year, Where are they now?
NWAkron replied to 1981 grad's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Lamont Paris has his hands full with a 5* recruit at South Carolina who complained a month ago on social media that he didn't get the final shot: "Can you help me answer that question, Chris bro?" Jackson responded as someone chiming in about the game. "Why don't I have the ball in my hands when it's crunch time, bro? Ain't I supposed to be this 'oh my God it's GG Jackson!' I don't see myself as that but ain't I supposed to be quote-unquote 'that'? Just give me that motherf*****. S*** is crazy bro, for real." Down by just one point with less than ten seconds remaining, South Carolina went to senior transfer Hayden Brown on a backdoor cut which got him a good look at the rim. But Brown missed the go-ahead shot leading to an Arkansas rebound. And add this: The South Carolina men's basketball team lost their seventh straight home game of the season Tuesday night to Vanderbilt, but the biggest news to come out of the Gamecocks' latest setback was five-star freshman GG Jackson being largely checked out for the third consecutive contest. South Carolina's top scorer this season has played sparingly over the past week, contributing seven points in 28 total minutes in two games. Earlier this month, Jackson voiced his displeasure on social media with how he's being utilized. The Gamecocks signed Jackson before the season after his widely-publicized flip from UNC as one of the top players of the recruiting cycle. "I'm sure he's frustrated," South Carolina first-year coach Lamont Paris said. "I'm committed to and will always play the guys who give us the best chance to win." -
I watched parts of their last two games. They barely got by Robert Morris at home and then last night they played like the Zips in the MAC tournament last year. As for the quality of the Horizon, it's hard to judge when the MAC has the directional Michigan schools. The bottom of that conference is certainly worse than the MAC but that's not saying much this season.

I thought it was a good article, but the MAC has too many crap teams and weak out of conference and/or unsuccessful out of conference schedules to deserve that extra slot in the NCAA. As good as Toledo is, the majority of those wins are over the bottom of the MAC. The two wins against Akron would be their best wins in conference play...and Akron didn't have any quality wins. Kent pushed the envelope with their schedule and came really close to some good wins...credit to them.

Yes, and I don't think the new women's BB hire will be the lowest paid coach in the MAC.
-
Nothing and everything to do with the coach. Got it.
-
That's nice.

I have "there's always next year" ready to go at 7:10PM Thursday evening.
-
What bad P.R? this was a mere blip in the media...if that.
-
So I guess if (god forbid) it comes down to a worst case scenario, we are Pro-Rockets?
-
if you take a look at the seating chart: 108 is the main section. 109 is at the end of the court and into the corner. (My guess based on going to this for years) It's not as simple as Akron gets all of 108 and 109. those may be shared with other teams from earlier games. Also, Cavs season ticket holders are mixed in there.
-
108-112 lower 108-109 club level.

Love the "TOS" reference. Best thing to ever come out of Kittens Attack.
-
You never seem to hear: "First name that comes to my mind is Rob Senderoff."
-
Not looking so good for Geno Ford's former team in the MVC final.
-
The "Huger Fired" thread on the BG message board is red hot. Hopefully, the BG women will clip the Rockettes in Cleveland.
-
Frankly, I would love it if each year it was a battle between Kent and Akron for the MAC Championship. That's why it's so important this year that one of them or someone else puts a stake through the heart of the Rockets.
-
very happy for Jackson and the program. Looks like a 6th seed and a date with Ball State. Winning those early games over the garbage teams paid off in the tiebreakers. I guess they could drop to 7 if Western beats Buffalo
-
Geez...CMU is bad. brick after brick.
-
they should hold on for a short (and i'm sure) meaningful trip to Cleveland even if they lose unless Buffalo, Miami, and Ohio all win.
-
There's a thread Hilltopper started which has a discount code. My understanding is that the cavs ticket holders can use their seats but most don't so when those open up that's the time to purchase.
-
Bad publicity for the entire city causes them to salivate. When u open the beacon website...not a front page pic of Kent's team or God help us Sincere Carry. Instead a fired basketball coach accused of something that we really don't know what it is. Who coached a program they barely covered.
-
it's paywalled. anyone have a summary? although, I can see from the headline this appears to be only an allegation that the ABJ stuck on front page.

1. Love the night game. Know EXACTLY where the Zips stand before tip off 2. With some help, NIU is going to have a monster fan base up there! Let's get there early Zips fans! 3. Relieved it's MIami and Groce's brother facing Toledo in first round as opposed to one of the horribles. Steele will put up a fight. 4. Everyone talking about a semi final re-match: STOP!!! One game at a time. Nothing is certain. 5. Miami played tough at Buffalo and in their last few games. Is Steele going to keep that massively out of shape Mirambeaux next year? 6. NIU blitzed EMU. 7. Toledo hasn't had a tough game in a long time. My $ is still on them.
