that job as Rhegi's sidekick couldn't have paid much more than a few hundred bucks per game. It's a real loss. But someone with her talent and personality was bound to move on to better things. So much change lately.

Armchair coaching: Why this team struggles

I know a little bit more about basketball than I do football (which is nothing). So here goes: (just kidding) -
2021-2022 Zips Women's Basketball

They appear to have an amazing attitude on the team. I was impressed that while Jordyn was sitting with 2 and then 3 fouls, they held on to the lead. Once Jordyn came back in, Martindale made the big 3 then Jordyn and Annika threw up on the FT line. But Reagan and Lane Farrell made their FTs to close it out. -
Yes, they are rapidly decompensating. Torches and pitchforks coming soon.

BG fans have a right to sing the blues: They went all PC and fired Chris Jans. He's doing super at New Mexico State. They aren't playing in the Ball State game which is tied. Drama. From BG message board: "Below is a direct paste of his comments to me...I cannot paraphrase this...again, it's all posted with his permission since he cannot get approved to use his own voice on here: James Reece (Joe's Dad) wrote:And let them know that the reason “straight from the coaches mouth,” was he didn’t like their attitude… mind you.. Joe was never late for practice, never any altercations on or off the court! 3. Something GPA never cursed out a coach .. but his body language was poor and his “energy” .. I’m still like HUH !! I guess I didn’t know that you were supposed to be a I guess happy when you are losing games… especially the ones that you know you could have won!"

I think I saw Bryan Trimble getting Subway with Jeremy Roscoe and KJ.

They were up 16 which lasted about a minute. Now down by 8.

2021-2022 Zips Women's Basketball

Dawson had 30, but Martindale, Farrell, and Bass closed out the game. Some dismal FT shooting kept Kent in striking distance. Dicey for a few moments. Zips have tiebreakers over Kent and Ball State. They will need those. -

Jordyn with 30 and 4 fouls. Zips hanging on. -

Yes. It's confusing. Zips up by 1 after ugly 3rd quarter on both sides. Zips had chances to push up the lead. Flushettes had chances to take lead. Jordyn sat out most of quarter with 3 fouls. Amazing # of lay ups missed. -

Zips up 5 at half. Held lead throughout. Biggest lead 10. Were up 8 when Jordyn picked up 2nd foul. Jordyn has 18 points. -
Every time I watch those Titanic movies I hope there will be a different ending. Never is.

I don't like thinking or typing this but If it's close the Zips aren't going to win. I think the ship is sinking. If Groce has lost the team, he won't find them on a bus to Ypsilanti. Zips go cold from 3. EMU packs it in on Freeman. Hurons by 15+. (These games are starting feel like Arth football. I don't see where they can improve in order to correct this other than Trimble or maybe X getting hot from 3).
-
For the women's team!
-
You never know. I think Groce is playing 3 dimensional chess and trying to drop down to the 7th or 8th seed to avoid Buffalo or Kent in the first round.

i guess someone whom I blocked is posting.

Calling the players losers and ad hominem attacks on the university don't help the posters on here to understand what is going on. Following up on Clark's point, it's hard to keep the perspective that moods and emotions can flip 180 if a ball bounces differently. And the fate of careers can also hinge on a bad call or a missed FT. We hear often that had Brian Walsh made his shot...would Groce have gone to Illinois. Had the Zips ended the game against Kent better would we be in this conversation today. If you are Bates at WMU or Melissa Jackson (who i hopefully underestimated) you can get away with some excuses because you aren't being paid a lot and expectations are low. No excuses apply for Groce. He's paid incredibly well to make things work. From recruiting to calling the final play of a half, it all falls on him. At this point I don't walk into the JAR feeling good or expecting much. It's not quite as bad as walking into Infocision on a Tuesday night but it's getting there. And that feeling comes from knowing exactly how things are going to play out: a dull start, maybe some panic and excitement, and then either a lucky break or a fail. Someone posted Groce's results from each year. He should have four goals each season: 1. Beat Kent at the JAR 2. Beat Kent twice 3. win regular season championship 4. win the MAC tournament. In his 6th year (or is it his 5th), Groce is going to whiff on all of those
-
His first year they best WMU in K-Zoo to reach Cleveland. I'm very concerned. Groce is highly paid. Middle of MAC isn't good enough. Other teams managed thru COVID: OU, Toledo, Kent. The Golden years of Zips basketball are in the rear view mirror. Major recruiting fails led to this.

Do you still want Ali, Xavier, and Trimble to hit the transfer portal?
