If you search Joe Moorhead on Twitter, there are a number of tweets about him and Akron. Often the comments give you better information about Moorhead and what he will do. Some tweets are ignorant. One guy wrote...why would Moorhead go to Akron instead of Louisiana Lafayette or Louisiana Tech? Uh...maybe because he was run out of Mississippi after he referred to himself as a "Yankee" during a press conference.
Moorhead had trouble with the Mississippi football culture (according to wiki).. ND may not be the deep South but it's in its own football universe. Akron would be low on pressure.

Oregon head coach doesn't deny it. I think Blue & Gold is right. Moorhead!
In general this is how someone's reputation easily gets destroyed in online media. Sports punditry is like political punditry. Although, I think sports pundits are likely more reliable.
My nephew's girlfriend's brother goes to Mount Union. He apparently saw a Thomas Limousine come on campus and pick up Geoff Dartt and his wife. They were headed North on I-77.
He has enough bad memories here, including fumbling his way into the end zone which precipitated Arth's firing. He needs a fresh start. Don't blame him at all.
First season he went to the Orange Bowl!! Lost all of his bowl games. Team was average after 2014. But the type of "average" the Zips haven't seen in a long, long time.
I've been all over the last search committee but they may have been severely hamstrung by the interim pres and the board. But Tom Arth? I had a queasy feeling when UTC was happy to get rid of him.
I 100% agree. There's a school of thought that Larry W wanted to make the big moves but was always shut down so he continued to make mediocre hires: Arth and Melissa Jackson come to mind. And the Groce hire save the university a lot of $ upfront. Illinois was essentially paying him to coach here.
And something has to be done big now or just give up on football and watch Infocision turn into something like those creepy abandoned amusement parks you can find on YouTube.
