I noted in a separate thread that Kittens were able to keep it close with Kentucky up to the point Kentucky turned up the defense. Kentucky worried me for awhile. They were playing like that traditional low seed power 5 program that is surprised in the first round because they just roll along in a half court game while the higher seed pops 3s from all over the court. Once Kentucky, who has some amazing players and one of the best rebounders I've even seen, stepped it up just a notch and pressed and pressured it was over. Groce finally has the depth to do that and not worry about his star player tiring out.

And do we extend the "No Notre Dame" rule to all of Indiana? ☠️

Progress for me would be a team that keeps us at the stadium to the end of the game each and every Saturday and Tuesday. I walked out in the 2nd quarter on Saturday. As for pay for play games, that's a tough call. $3.5 mill gave them some cushion to buy out Arth. And when Guthrie scheduled TN for next year, Arth had to know that was to pay for his firing.

100% agree. I would like Guthrie to go through each athletic program and tell the coaches that the standard is Excellence. Alas, excellence costs $$.

The football program almost needs a complete re-branding. When ValuJet crashed into the Everglades and all the passengers were eaten by alligators, they changed name to Air Tran which then became part of Southwest. Can't change from the Akron Zips, but the athletic dept has got to do everything it can to scrub off the stench of Williams and Arth.

Kittens kept it close for 26 minutes then KY stepped up its defense and held Ohio to 9 points the rest of the game. Groce and the Zips will need that pressing and swarming defense to contain the Kittens front court. And KY is amazing.
