  1. I'd love to watch this guy chew up GT and Terry Pluto and spit them out. These Oregon reporters actually ask real football questions.
  2. Moorhead had trouble with the Mississippi football culture (according to wiki).. ND may not be the deep South but it's in its own football universe. Akron would be low on pressure.
  3. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/football/cristobal-discusses-coaching-carousel-ahead-of-early-signing-period Oregon head coach doesn't deny it. I think Blue & Gold is right. Moorhead!
  4. The women play the hapless Detroit Mercy tonight. If Jackson loses this one...
  5. In general this is how someone's reputation easily gets destroyed in online media. Sports punditry is like political punditry. Although, I think sports pundits are likely more reliable.
  6. Since we are losing our minds:
  7. My nephew's girlfriend's brother goes to Mount Union. He apparently saw a Thomas Limousine come on campus and pick up Geoff Dartt and his wife. They were headed North on I-77.
  8. Spencer Rattler.
  9. He has enough bad memories here, including fumbling his way into the end zone which precipitated Arth's firing. He needs a fresh start. Don't blame him at all.
  10. I'm bored: $725,000 in Eugene, Oregon: https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/85782-Lorane-Hwy_Eugene_OR_97405_M14029-44351 $567,000 in Akron, Ohio: https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/1538-Acacia-Dr_Akron_OH_44333_M34972-37001
  11. at least no Bobby Petrino rumors....yet.
  12. First season he went to the Orange Bowl!! Lost all of his bowl games. Team was average after 2014. But the type of "average" the Zips haven't seen in a long, long time.
  13. Catch him at the Marshall game on Wednesday. He will be walking around.
  14. I've been all over the last search committee but they may have been severely hamstrung by the interim pres and the board. But Tom Arth? I had a queasy feeling when UTC was happy to get rid of him.
  15. USC, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech are sucking up all the talent. In a bidding war, Zips are going to lose.
  16. We are all hoping for the best and ignoring reality: the phrase "whistling past the graveyard" comes to mind.
  17. Western Michigan has the Stryker family, who donated a medical school but haven't done much for athletics.
  18. I 100% agree. There's a school of thought that Larry W wanted to make the big moves but was always shut down so he continued to make mediocre hires: Arth and Melissa Jackson come to mind. And the Groce hire save the university a lot of $ upfront. Illinois was essentially paying him to coach here. And something has to be done big now or just give up on football and watch Infocision turn into something like those creepy abandoned amusement parks you can find on YouTube.
  19. Maybe there was a typo somewhere and it's Orgeron and not Oregon.
  20. We are getting our hopes up but I would love some Oregon style uniforms...all in gold!
  21. athletics spending is a shell game for sure. guess we wouldn't want salaries depending on the whim of a donor.
  22. I don't think donations can directly pay coaches salaries.
  23. I agree. Those in power have to know what what drag this program is on the university and community.
