  1. Shut it! Was a great day to be a Zip until you came along
  2. That would really add to the travel budget for the schools. They didn't seem like a good fit.
  3. Will it be a great day to be a Zip?
  4. https://scarletandgame.com/2021/11/08/previewing-ohio-state-basketballs-season-opener-vs-akron/ This is so lame. They talk about the backcourt of Trimble and LC Jackson being dangerous Tuesday night. ????
  5. It doesn't. The posting isn't to help. It's to irritate. Also, I read through it and it's just click bait garbage. The only criticism of the stadium was that the football team was bad.
  6. I've never been in it to "snap out of it." No Notre Dame! I don't what occurred in the Arth hire, but we had an interim president at the time who hated sports. We also had people on the search committee with no football knowledge. It's like they sent an email to "central casting" and asked them to send up a "football coach."
  7. NOT FUNNY!! (i hope that was a joke)
  8. a bad basketball team is more likely to beat a top 10 team than a bad football team is to beat a top 10 team And the basketball players aren't being tackled by 300 pound linebackers
  9. and he's from Hawaii. That should make Z. I. P. (?) happy.
  10. joking? right? 2016Syracuse4–8. 2–6. T–6th (Atlantic) 2017Syracuse4–8. 2–6. 7th (Atlantic) 2018Syracuse10–3. 6–2. 2nd (Atlantic)W Camping World1515 2019Syracuse5–72–66th (Atlantic) 2020Syracuse1–10. 1–9T–14th 2021Syracuse5–4. 2–3 Syracuse:29–40. 15–32
  11. I don't know how Miller and Guthrie are going to do it, but they need to make a splash with this hire. Someone who immediately draws attention from the community. And they don't need a search firm to do that. Figuring how tight Miller and Guthrie are with the dollar, I would think/hope they would bypass the search firm. As many said on here, they surely didn't need one to find John Groce. They picked him up in Phoenix during the Final Four. They knew where to find him
  12. yes. but the committee "had" other people on it with ZERO football background. Need grammarly.
  13. good observation. it's known that the search committee last time had people on it with ZERO football knowledge. They hired an image. Their fantasy successful coach. The dream became a nightmare fast.
  14. Yes. Don't feed the trolls. Leave them alone in their basements.
  15. Hopefully, Arth's firing informs all of the coaches that they better produce. Melissa Jackson, another "nice" person, was handed the job by Williams, who probably had ZERO interest in women's basketball, and she's accomplished zilch.
  16. He's a top 5 paid coach? Geez. Yeah, not acceptable. A couple down years and the other MAC schools pounced.
  17. ALL EYES TURN TO GROCE. after the abysmal soccer and football seasons, Groce is all we have left.
  18. I'm sorry. Will retract that. Zips got this one.
  19. He's a wannabe "Cassandra." Predicting doom and gloom without her accuracy.
  20. well-said. you are spot on with this.
  21. i understand what you are saying. and as I mentioned there was some big improvement. Arth was nothing like ICoach.
  22. In the basketball thread do not refer to the team from Portage County by their "given" name. You have many other options including (or make up your own): PCCC (Portage County Community College) Ravenna State Streetsboro Junior College Portage County School of Fashion and Design PCCC @ Garrettsville Brimfield Tech PCCC's basketball coach "The Dean of the Mac" is known as "Pinky." And we are all very happy they keep renewing his contract.
  23. Maybe, but I think there was over a 90% chance they were going to lose the next 3 games and likely by quite a lot. The Ball State game had 1 1/2 quarters of quality football and it was fun to watch. I never saw that type of play during the ICoach years. But why did it take to the last quarter of the 9th game of his 3rd season (yes, last year doesn't completely count) to get that type of quality play where they are driving and scoring and making 2 point conversions? I don't know the answer. And then Gibson made that fumble. There was 1 minute 30 seconds left and Ball State had 2 time outs and down by 2. I'm thinking the odds were 50/50 the Zips were still going to lose. You can't run a railroad that way...hopes and prayers. Life isn't always fair.
