Why do I even track our offers when half of them are silent?

That’s disappointing.

I don’t know Iowa’s situation or why Labas didn’t play, but watching his practice film he certainly has the physical makeup. Then again, so does Bullock, so I’m not sure how to feel. Ideally we land at least one QB with significant game experience.

I think most of it will hinge on the quarterback. A number of incoming transfers were all-conference at their respective levels and I’m sure some of the talented freshmen from the 2023 class will be ready to contribute. The team should be better at nearly every position, but if the QB situation is still a problem, it will just be more of the same. There are two transfer windows to get that figured out.

Staying on the former Zip theme, Dakota Thomas landed at a JUCO after his departure. Wondering if grades were an issue with him too. Honorable mention all-conference season at JUCO.

No, it can just be one year. Might be a situation where the staff is keeping him on the back burner in case they don’t land their top targets. Or they may not offer again at all?

Preseason second team JUCO All-American. Haven’t spoken to him, but he lists other options as ULM and UT-Martin. Edit: Added his JUCO film here. Not sure what his deal is, but the kid looks legit.

GA Southern’s biggest issue all year has been turnovers. 5 is certainly on the high end. I thought Ohio was assisted more by GA Southern’s mistakes as opposed to what they actually caused. The QB alone had 16 interceptions going into the game. Gifting the ball to defenses is nothing new to him. Seemed to me Ohio should have won by more considering the turnovers. In any case, they have more depth on the OL and DL than most MAC programs. Their freshmen also stepped up.

Excellent article. About the only thing he’s missing is the Title IX lawsuit that was filed in Oregon a few weeks ago. That could drastically change the landscape as well.

Not to take anything away from Ohio, but GA Southern would have found it difficult to beat any team with their 5 turnover performance today.

Still haven’t seen many realistic options that would be a significant upgrade over what we already have. May have to wait until the dominos start to fall and a few guys are left without options they originally thought would be available. Outside of the obvious P5 transfers, almost all of the other QBs have some type of flaw. Whether it’s lack of experience, turnover prone, or just a poor fit for JoeMo’s offense. Maybe we end up landing a guy like AJ Swann? Good enough to be a part time starter, but is viewed as a backup by most P5 schools. Perhaps someone like that eventually decides he wants to be a full time starter somewhere and goes G5. That’s at least the type of scenario I’m hoping for.
