  1. Hey, I'll take $1.8m to come beat OSU. (/j)
  2. C'mon GP1, best game ever would be I have the presidential sweet all to myself and my friends. All other fans, 100% zips fans, and the Band, on the other side so I can see them cheer wildly for the Zips, as the Zips annihilate whoever we're playing. With OSU fans bringing their jerseys to the stadium to trade in for ZIPS jerseys, and bowing before the almighty ARoo Logo pledging fealty to the Akron Zips for eternity. A man can dream.
  3. I'm probably going to go. I went both in 2011 and 2021. Yeah it's not fun watching the zips get annihlated, but it is kinda cool to see the Zips in the shoe. In 2012 I went to see Akron play Tennessee and that was a wildly exciting game because the Zips played much better than anyone expected.
  4. Everyone on this list was officially listed as a SF at some point in their career throughout a season. All I did was go year-by-year through the rosters that were compiled and where players were listed. Demetrius Treadwell was, indeed, listed as a SF in the lineup in one of the seasons.
  5. I guess my biggest gripe is the decision makers that make decisions that ultimately tank institutions are usually long gone by the time whatever they enacted comes to fruition. That culture of resume building. UA has been through Nth Rebrands? What impact did they measurably have? Doesn't matter ... the people who made those decisions are long gone by the time to evaluate if they were a success or not, and they likely used those decisions to pad the resume to peter-principle themselves into a better paying position somewhere else. I hate being cynical, but it's just something I've observed over the years and in some cases have directly experienced in my own profession.
  6. Aren't most of the new systems backwards compatible? My Xbox Series X can run Xbox 360 and Xbox ONE ...
  7. I used to idolize Proenza (dumb college kid) but now as an alumni, I cannot do anything but look back at Proenza's tenure as anything but disastrous. He oversaw a bubble and double-downed on debt. Where were the people to say that wasn't a good idea?
  8. Notre Dame college bet the farm on Athletics, and lost. It was stupid. The administrators who made that decision were using NDC as a stepping-stone to pad their resume to move onto greener pastures. I feel like Akron has suffered from similar philosophical administrators who see UA as a means to an end, rather than actually caring about the success or failure of the institutes they are in charge of.
  9. Fair point.
  10. When hasn't it been a business though?
  11. Just in case anyone has ever been looking...Influxer now has Akron Zips Football Jerseys available for players of your choice. Influxer was the same place you could get the Enrique Freeman Jersey earlier this year.
  12. If we could only get an alumni to win the Mega-Millions or Powerball...then we'd be set.
  13. This. The source I used listed starting lineups for the Zips during a given season, and players would appear at multiple positions. This happened a lot with Kretzer and Reggie McAdams as they both technically occupied the same SG position, but when the were both on the court one would be the technical SG and technical SF. Treadwell was definitely listed as a SF on several of the seasonal rosters he played on, which indeed baffled me...but it is what it is. I welcome anyone else to do a 2.0 version if they think they can put together a better list.
  14. I merely went down the list of people listed as SF over the timeframe listed. Yes, people were listed in multiple positions INCLUDING Cheese, Ali and Ivey, McKnight and Treadwell were all listed at SF on starting lineups at some point. I wanted to include Linhard and Peterson, but the polls are limited to 10 people only. Though I invite the constructive criticism for when we eventually in the future do a 2.0 version.
  15. It's difficult for these lists because it limits me to only 10 candidates. Nate was on my list, however he had to be cut because of the limitation of the poll feature.
  16. I'm definitely down. And I know everyone would want to be the Zips...but...I also have split allegiances with Ohio University and Indiana University.
  17. Updated, now the SF ppoll is posted.
  18. I apologize for the delay, but here is the final ZipsNation All-Star Team 1.0 poll, Small Forward.
  19. Updated for the PF position.
  20. Vote for your top THREE picks in terms of the Shooting Guard position. Top choice is the starter, second is off the bench, third is third off the bench. Please read all Special Notes before voting: 1. I compiled this list using this resource. 2. I'm only allowed 10 options and the poll, so I compiled the list by Players listed at the SG position at any point in their career with the best stats. 3.This is just for fun, don't take it too seriously. My tenure of hardcore following the Zips was 2010-2016, and then only casually after that so I'm trying my best here. 😆
  21. Updated 3/27 to add point guards voted.
  22. Vote for your top THREE picks in terms of the Power Forward position. Top choice is the starter, second is off the bench, third is third off the bench. Please read all Special Notes before voting: 1. I compiled this list using this resource. 2. Most players on this list are because they were listed as the starting PG in their senior year, or multiple years. 3. Players may appear on multiple lists depending upon the positions they played. Vote based upon the position listed. Any players who played multiple positions will be re-listed on those voting lists later. For Example: Nick Harney was listed as a backup PG, but also was listed as a SF and SG. If you don't think he was the top-3 Pg or SF, but a top-3 SG than vote for him when the SG part rolls around. 4. The Poll only allows for 10 options, so I'm giving the 10 best options I can come up with from the resource provided. 5. This is just for fun, don't take it too seriously. My tenure of hardcore following the Zips was 2010-2016, and then only casually after that so I'm trying my best here. 😆
  23. Uh, what? I'm happy for Keith.
  24. It felt like we were always a 14/13 seed. W/E. Still doesn't answer how a Mid-Major like Akron gets a lower seed than Duquesne
