  1. Certainly did not... Toledo opened up a can
  2. Mason has certainly been a highlight I think he had one catch last year and it was a td ...
  3. the worst part for that would have to be LISTENING to how tough finley is but WATCHING how freaking soft he is. I don't know that a more fragile person has ever played Division 1 qb or a person so afraid of contact. I swear if you have the volume up you can almost hear him squeal every time a defender gets near him.
  4. ok i am a freaking moron. Our line is getting shredded and looks like they never played football before. what the hell. the announcers are comparing this guy to lamar jackson. how bout comparing the line to the keystone cops? jumping up in the air and flopping all over the ground like they never saw a running qb before. my gosh
  5. UMASS is winning 14-3 3:43 left in the second qrtr over Buffalo. The tide of the season could be turning
  6. Max saved MJ on that one. I like the aggressiveness going for two, but that pass was not very good.
  7. you heard here first... Zips aren't losing a game rest of the season... Zips pull it out today, start playing some freshmen blood next week and finish the season 5-0! Central Michigan smoked Bowling green and Umass is giving Buffalo everything they can handle. Of course i am thinking positive and not saying, Umass is giving Buffalo everything they can handle, Kent State is tied with Toledo in the second... and JoeMo may not play any freshmen and we never get any pressure on the qb the rest of the season and have no clue what any of the freshmen can do on defense... But I am staying positive, Zips win today and the next four after !!!
  8. I ain't gonna lie, it would be exciting to see the Zips compete for the MAC. I know it's not the college playoffs or the AP top 25, but just to be relevant would be exciting. I know someone is going to say it's never going to happen, or it's never going to happen with this coach, I get the frustration. I'm just saying just to be relevant in the MAC would be exciting for me. I'm not asking for much. This year, Wyoming sucked, UAB was winnable, Central sucked, Miami didn't suck but was winnable. Zips should have split those four games at the very least. Looking back at this schedule it is like the captain of the cheerleading squad saying hi to you everyday and you actually thinking you had a chance to go out with her, until you actually ask her and she busts out in laughter..... You just shake your head and wonder what the heck was I thinking?
  9. can't figure it out either. that's why i'm hoping starting with the buffalo game we start to see them. duncan got 8 snaps first two games then we never saw him again. came here as an energizer bunny what happened? brown got 15 or 16 snaps in one game he came from fcs but had more experience than any end on the entire roster never saw other than that one game. cheatom played that first game then one snap last game and nothing else? the ends have a combined 5 sacks FROM 2 guys and that's 2 in the central game and 2 in the duquesne game.:: the twins have 1 solo tackle each and the one has 2 assisted tackles and the other has 5 ..: that sucks as a defensive end unit. coming into the season we needed pressure on the qbs. we haven't gotten. durham has played more snaps than ANY edge in all of FBS and only two in FCS have played more. he has played EVERY snap except 65 in seven games. maybe if he didn't play so many snaps he could produce more? i would have liked to have seen what gavin could have done in the middle as well. bosswell is good as a freshman but gavin is similar in size and is the fastest linebacker on the team what was there to lose by trying some of those guys earlier?
  10. I don't know what to expect with ball state probably get the same with the zips that we have been getting. i am excited for buffalo and the other three games after that. they should be winnable games and we should get to see some of the freshman class that they were "saving" to preserve their redshirt season. i think some of the defensive guys will be exciting and i'm excited to see what broughton has to offer. he looked exciting in the spring. after the starting four d linemen are defensive line hasn't produced ANYTHING at all so maybe some new blood will be refreshing.
  11. the solution is simple fire joe moe and convince charlie frye or jason taylor to become the next coach and the stadium will magically become a sellout every home game and five star recruits will beating down the door to be the next great akron football player. problem solved
  12. People act like it is their money being spent and if it was i would support that argument 100% but it isn't. not at all. the majority of people on here i believe want the team to win but others just come on here to complain and would never be happy. it's always the same thing. and on the two occasions that akron has won they say nothing at all. but the first mistake and instantly the come out with "where's the guru? ". doesn't matter if it is a bad play call or a penalty or an interception it's always the same "fire joe"... it's boring
  13. K reed i probably agree with you 90-95 percent of the time, but the taxpayer argument is wrong. The football team does not cost the taxpayer a penny...
  14. some nfl player that this generation never even heard of or some young coach that no one ever heard of or some high school coach that no one ever heard of that will suddenly fill the stadium and bring in top quality recruits and while you are at it pay joe a million dollars that the school doesn't have to leave, better yet scrap the entire football program all together and maybe just maybe you won't find something to bitch about, then again you probably will
  15. yeah u say it every week go hire an nfl former player blah blah blah give it up already
  16. the coach is NOT the one dropping passes off his hands or his chest. the coach is NOT the one making false start after false start, the coach is NOT the throwing the bal into the dirt.. sometimes the players have to be held accountable also
  17. the offensive guru was a genius last week, this week he gets the blame for the interception at the goal line and the missed field goal and the stupid penalties? akron should have been winning before it ever got to 10-0. life as a college coach. hero to villain instantly
  18. all the complaining that people do about Joe, imagine being a Penn State fan today !!!! hahahahhahaahah
  19. zips playing not to lose now. that's the difference. playing scared.
  20. that was a nice defensive stand. nicely timed blitz by summers
  21. halftime. cmu had it at the 2 and took an intentional grounding with 7 seconds left half ended on a runoff
  22. first sack of the year playing probably his best game and then has a stupid penalty. that's the third time he has had a costly penalty that close to the goal line.
