It doesn't seem that long ago that Toledo was the #1 seed and knocked us out in the semis. In reality that was six years ago, the last time we didn't make the final.

NIU down 13-7 to Arkansas St. Looks like the MAC might end 3-2. Still pretty good. If NIU can come back, the MAC will have the best winning percentage of any conference. The Zips just got a mention becasue the replay official is Chuck Amato's brother.

We don't have either EMU or CMU on the schedule next year. We could potentially put Buffalo and Can't in those spots.

From the looks of the pdf, this was in the works before he became UA's head coach. That was either a nice bit of luck, an extreme coincidence or some real behind the scenes dealing no one was privy to.

Think its toiugh to make too much of a judgment based on one league game apiece.

Great - the two toughest West opponents. I could see that one coming after Can't and Temple both drew EMU. Well, we'll see what next year brings.

So facilities do matter but not the way we thought. Quote from Coach Amato "When Terry called me and asked if I would consider coming to Akron to be a part of his new staff, I told him that I really wanted to come and visit the campus before making a decision," Amato said. "After seeing that the University's facilities are second to none, and hearing first hand the type of commitment the entire administration has to building a winning football program, the decision was an easy one." So facilities don't directly bring in recruits, but they help bring some good coaches and then THEY get the good recruits. Too bad we didn't know this a few years ago. This is a really interesting staff being put together. Hope Coach A doesn't hold it against us that we might have been part of the reason he got fired at NC State.

I like the way the schedule is set up for the East, where we start with Miami and BGSU on the road, where we should be able to win and get OU and Can't at home. For this team that would seem to be a good way to start. At the end we get three East homes games too. I do not, however, like the MAC West setup. We get what are likely the three toughest MAC West opponents on the road.
