  1. Are we sure we wouldn't be better off with Matt Rodgers at running back?
  2. No one is in the chat room and most folks I suspect are at the game so I thought I'd at least try to get one going.Wonderful start - a shanked punt, a fumble and an interception on our first three drives. We're lucky we're not down 21-0.
  3. I don't know why I bother to ask these questions if I'm just going to look them up and answer them myself, but the answer is not only games with consecutive points, but consecutive games with at least one goal is Pete Milich in 1960 who scored a goal in an incredible 16 straight games which is still the NCAA record. He still ranks among the top 15 in the NCAA record books in 13 categories to this day. Wow.He also holds the school record for goals in a game with 7. I'd never read the Zips soccer media guide but there is a lot of interesting stuff in it like in 1961- Defeated defending NCAA Champion St. Louis, 3-2, at the Rubber Bowl in front of 10,000 spectators as part of the Acme-Zip spectacular. That season five of 11 All-Ohio selections were from Akron. So I guess our Jackson field record crowds this year aren't as impressive as I thought.
  4. Nanchoff had an assist on one of Ampai's goals. Eight straight games with at least one point for him. I wonder what the Akron record is.
  5. That horse is alive and kicking. I don't get tired of hearing about it.
  6. Central is killing EMU, 49-0 in the 3rd.Miami down 16-0 to Northwestern.Ball State losing to Temple 10-0. Has any team ever gone from 12-0 one year to 0-12 the next (or any year undefeated in the regular season to winning no games the next year)? Ball State has a shot.
  7. Don't know where you found it but well done. Zips already up 1-0 on a goal by Ampai.
  8. I got nothing. Looked at the CBS Gametracker for today's soccer matches and Akron-WMU is not listed.
  9. I guess you were telling the truth when you said you didn't read too far into it. The subtitle said that their president and his wife paid for it.
  10. Anyone want to discuss conference changes?
  11. SportsRadio 1350 has always worked for me.http://www.sportsradio1350.com/main.html
  12. They're gone - glad to see them being put to good use.
  13. I had someone lined up to use my season tickets (50 yd line, literally - section 110, row 7, seats 9 and 10) but they let me know at the last minute they couldn't make it. Anybody want them - no charge - just PM me. The physical tickets are in Ohio, I left them with my parents in Hartville for just such an emergency.
  14. I just voted but he's down by .7 now.
  15. Was this a prediction form this article?Dambrot has guided Akron to two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances following back-to-back Mid-American Conference Tournament championships for the Zips.
  16. I know you've had it for a while, but maybe you should turn your Zipsnation name over to Tom (you're not Tom are you? )
  17. What was wrong with the E.J. label? It looked ok.
  18. Actually we were even better than that, shots were 12-5, but shots on goal was 9-2.
  19. I especially liked the one that mark Infocision Stadium. And the soccer field is unmarked - it should say "Home of the 2009 NCCA soccer champions".
  20. If you jinxed us...Last time I trifle with the soccer gods (or I am playing the lottery tonight), that actually happened. Fortunately Kofi and Teal bailed me out. :thumb:Edit: I am not as omniscient as I thought, it was not the game tying goal (but strangely it was in the 88th minute), it made it 2-1. How dare UIC score a goal on us.
  21. Oh no, game tying goal by UIC in the 88th minute (just kidding, messing with those of you that aren't using gametracker). Our defense is awesome.
  22. Whew! This has been a tough, tough match.
  23. Here is a nice table representation of all of it. And since we need 4 goals to get to exactly a three goals per game average, I'm going to go with a 4-0 Zips win tonight.
  24. More proof of what a special season this isWas looking up NCAA soccer stats through this week and came up with some pretty impressive findings:Started off with seeing Teal Burnbury in the top 20 in both points per game and goals per game, pretty impressive, but then#1. Michael Nanchoff, assists per game (and most assists in a single game this year)#1. David Meves, Goals Against Average and #4 in Save percentagethen in team rankings: #1: Akron - Scoring Offense, Team Goals Against average; Shutout Percentage; Win-Loss percentage, #2 Save Percentage (Stinking Quinnipiac ).So number one in nationwide offense and defense. Can't get better than that.Take out UIC tonight! 10-0!
  25. It does look like a very nice facility, looks to have started around the same time as Infocision. I could see something like that working as a partnership with the city and University.
