  1. Tough fought game - Zips pull out a 1-0 victory. 15-0-0. VERY impressive. Props to all of the folks who made the trip up.
  2. Just had a free kick by Nanchoff, didn't get a goal but the announcers did mention how easy it is to see if the defenders are ten yards off the ball on a football field (one guy looked a little close to me ).
  3. By the way, thanks for this - had to download a new RealPlayer but its working well. Zips streak of not allowing a goal in the first half is still alive too!
  4. 25 minutes into the game and Buffalo doesn't even have a shot, let alone a shot on goal. Our defense is fricking awesome.
  5. Even more suspicious, that was the last time ZNO member "hoopla" was ever heard from. Maybe he took a better position on another board.
  6. By the way, the ladies won 2-0 at Buffalo earlier today. They have really improved this year.
  7. 12 minutes in - no assist - wish we could get more info but glad we at least have this.
  8. Must be warm there - usually there is a foot of snow in Canada by now.
  9. Interesting snippet at the end of that article. Meanwhile the topic of huddled conversation between coaches and players at the end of the scrimmage was the performance of 7-0 Zeke Marshall. The final numbers kept by Akron's staff spoke volumes; 2 points, 2 rebounds, 0 blocks after the five eight-minute scrimmages for the freshman center from Pennsylvania. When Elton tells you he's not ready, then he's not ready, darn it!
  10. Thanks bzg, I had even been searching the Buffalo web site for it and didn't find it (and the Zips usually have a link right from their schedule page). Good to see my complaints were heard at the highest level. For anyone that wants the link, here it is.http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/menssoc...DB_OEM_ID=10800Go Zips!
  11. An hour before the game and I can't find a single thing for it - no audio, no gamecast, no nothing! Grrrr!
  12. Sad thing is that every MAC school expect Toledo once fielded a soccer team (Toledo may have but we never played them). Of the remaining six schools only CMU (once) and Ohio (3 times) ever beat us (maybe that's why they all dropped out? More than likely it was title nine issues, I'm betting). Just a darn shame that we can't hold a conference together that had so many members playing the sport at one time. :(By the way, Zip_ME87, no response from the MAC office on your inquiry?
  13. There are five characters in this scene. That number would seem to match up well (not nicely ) with another sports team on campus?
  14. Last ex-Notre Dame coach we hired didn't work out all that well (of course he didn't have any national championships on his resume).
  15. While there may be some correlation, it really doesn't matter that much. Point of reference, Mike Bardo's brother is "only" 6'3". Heart matters a lot more then height (even though height helps).
  16. Man a few of those are brutal - but they are very funny. I bet the one that said since a lot of Buckeyes fans are bandwagon fans why not join the UC bandwagon? - may have hit just a little too close to home. #4 and #9 were my favorites.
  17. I think his height upside is very good. He grew two inches just between these two articles.
  18. Its a slow process unfortunately, you have to have a winning team to draw the attention. It was a lot easier with basketball, but soccer still carries some cachet. I try to talk to team up to anyone I know, especially UA alumni. A national title will help, at least it will be some recogniton. But in 1986 we made it to the National final and still not a lot people know that.
  19. I always wondered what in the heck that phrase came from but in any case College Soccer News included the Zips as one of their Six Questions You Might Want to Ask feature.Spoiler Alert: They think we could.
  20. If this is true it really would be reason to exit the MAC, however, I'm inclined not to believe it. That doesn't make sense. Not like it really matters to us this year, but it could in other years.
  21. I thought you just created the title, pretty funny that was their title.
  22. Well deserved indeed. But Sewell not making the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams is absurd. But sadly, beyond Sewell, is there anyone you think they overlooked? I was even a little surprised Woods made it. I'm very happy to see that Wagner made the first team though - very impressive.
  23. Man, I'd love to be at that one but logistics just don't seem like they'll work out for it. If the season continues to go like it has and the Zips take care of business like they should, this could actually be the last road game of the year until a possible College Cup appearance. Three home regular season games, two possible MAC games and three possible NCAA tournament games.
  24. Absolutley the wrong groups to be using as a methaphor for this season. What this team really needs is a hungry heart to return them to their glory days to help lead them to the promised land. What we really need is a back that was born to run and a defense that is murder incorporated. Until then we're just dancing in the dark in this hard land. Or maybe I just spent too much time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while I was up last weekend.
  25. I sincerely hope that any player regardless of team would ignore pretty much everything on these kinds of boards. If they want to have a screener let them know when something nice has been said about them, great, but I hope they personally avoid these kinds of boards like the plague. Very little good would come from it. These are fan boards and we're allowed to be fanaticists on here like we should be but for a kid who's giving everything he has and still coming up short doesn't need to see the kind of treatment they'd get on here. I don't think there is a ban on athletes looking at these kinds of sites but I'd hope common sense would tell them to stay away (until they graduate and then we welcome them to be fanatics like the rest of us ).
