  1. I actually grew up working in that park. People did ice fish back then. Never saw any evidence of anything untoward going on. 😂🤣
  2. Really nice game from Tribble tonight. Hasn't missed a shot
  3. Dawson sighting - such a smooth jumper from three.
  4. Every league needs to have one school that believes it is academically superior to the rest of the league, even though athletically average or poor in most sports. The SEC has Vanderbilt, the Big Ten has Northwestern, the ACC has maybe Duke minus the basketball? 🤔 We have Miami. 😁
  5. "I do not envy the headache you will have when you awaken my friend. Now go to sleep and dream of large women". 😁
  6. And now mid-way through the third quarter, the two teams have combined for 28 turnovers. Almost unwatchable. 😔
  7. Dawson was on pace for a 52 point night in the first quarter. 😊
  8. That Toledo missed free throw with a 3 was a killer. Rollins is a terrific player. Now I know how other teams felt when LCJ had the ball in his hands.
  9. False - it was a first half run. 🙃
  10. Look at Aziz knocking down free throws. Even if he probably shouldn't have been shooting them.
  11. Both have a penchant for occasionally annoying people on the board? 😉 😄😂
  12. @kreed5120 good point on Miami. Had they been playing west teams twice a year back then I'm sure their record would have been much better. So just for fun I went back just for Akron and Buffalo another five years and it does tilt toward Akron but only if you go the full five. Another three gives Akron 2 tournament titles and the Bulls 1/2 of a regular season title but they are neck and neck in wins and losses. Adding the two more years at Akron 11-5 and 13-3 and Buffalo 3-13 and 4-12 does tilt the scale more heavily toward Akron. So lets go with Class of the <whatever> means you have to go back 15 years 😄
  13. So last night on the CMU broadcast the announcers referred to the Zips as the "Class of the MAC". So I wondered how true that was so I went back and looked up the stats (I am retiring in two more days so I have the time at work 😂). So I did a spreadsheet over the last ten years not counting this year (I didn't want to cherry pick and make sure I included all of Akron's titles since 2009) and these are the results: Team Avg Wins Avg Losses Regular Season Titles Tournament Titles Winning Seasons Buffalo 11.9 5.6 2.33 4 9 Akron 11.5 6.1 4.5 1 (also first seed when the tournament was vacated) 7 Toledo 10.8 6.9 1.5 0 6 Kent 9.9 7.7 0.33 1 (bastards 😂) 7 Ohio 9.3 7.9 0.5 2 (double bastards 😄) 6 BGSU 8.6 9.0 0 0 (since 1968) 5 EMU 7.9 9.3 0 0 3 WMU 7.9 9.5 0.5 1 4 Ball St 7.4 10.1 0 0 4 CMU 6.7 10.7 0.33 0 3 NIU 6.5 10.7 0 0 1 Miami 6.3 11.2 0 0 1 Kind of shocking to me that Miami is worse than everyone in the west. Their sole winning season was last year at 9-8. A lot of the West teams winning season are like 10-8, 11-7 records. And without the NCCA success Ohio is sort of a middling MAC team (but sadly I do expect that is changing under Boals). But from all of this its clear to me that the class of the MAC over the past decade has been Buffalo. Their one losing season was 7-9 a decade ago. With that and their NCAA tournament success I think it's pretty clear they have been the #1 team. If we sneak it back three more years and grab two more of the Zips tournament titles then maybe we have an argument. :-)
  14. It did feel like he had more than three blocks but I guess those are the official stats
  15. Well there is possibly one of three. Is it feeling to anyone else like the early days of Caleb Porter when he was bringing in people you couldn't believe were really coming to Akron? And the more good players he brought in the more good players wanted to come? Of course the soccer team was in much better shape then. But this has the same feel to me.
  16. The anti-directional invitational.
  17. What is with the "give him a chance Coach" guy? What the hell is he talking about?
  18. Absolutely scorching start. I'm expecting they'll be moving this to the main ESPN channel any moment
  19. Ah Bobby never change.
  20. So they shoot them well but not often. Smart 😂
  21. I'll still take a frustrating 5-2 team. Always seems to be an ugly game against EMU. I can't remember the last time I saw an EMU Akron game and thought wow that was really a beautiful game. 😂
  22. I was the same way on that one. It almost looked like the Zips thought it was going to be a shot clock violation ad stopped playing. Strange. Sometimes its better to be lucky and good.
  23. Pretty amazing box score - Zips shot 50-50-80 and the one that brought them down on foul shooting was X who is the teams best free throw shooter. Zips shot over 50% from three and two good three point shooters in X and Dawson were both 1-4. And three guys that got in at the last minute, had one rebound (Kalle), one assist (Wilson) and one basket (Ford). 😄
  24. I'm not sure about your overall prognosticating. It wasn't close, Enrique was a point short and only four fouls, you were WAAYY under on X with only 14 points (and six assists), And Trimble, my goodness unless 9 of them coming from deep meant his three pointers (and you were still wrong he had 10), you were way off there too. My god man stop embarrassing yourself. 😉😂😂
  25. Dylan Swingle. Apparently he is still at BGSU (according to ay-ziggy-zoomba) but decided not to play basketball any more. And it's possible ZipsWin is now ay-ziggy-zoomba famous too. :-) "Shoutout to the maskless Akron dad sitting behind their bench for screaming and stomping his feet when the shot clock stopped working. Really good stuff from a quality guy."
