If I understand the system, a win Saturday locks in the #2 seed no matter what. With 5 games remaining, the only team that could challenge is WMU with 4 losses. But we already beat them head to head, so advantage Akron. So I think a win on Sat sends us to the BracketBuster with a #2 seed guaranteed. If I don't have this right, DIG please chime in.

All the percentages and comparisons were very good, except the 20 turnovers. 10 turnovers we win in a blowout.

Here we go again with the early substitution. This looks familiar. The bench is nice but play the A team and put the game away first. This strategy has been killing us. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again in the expectation of a different outcome.

When a team becomes dominant, the other teams may decide to get you out so they can have a shot at the dance or NIT. We are at the point of assuming we will be in the championship game every year.

We are in a strange situation. I could see the MAC kicking us out because football is not playing at a DI level. I could also see the MAC kicking us out because our hoops team is too good! Only OU is really competitive with us in the MAC, and it is not just Zeke - we went to three straight championship games before Zeke got here.

To paraphrase the great John Madden: "Great players make great plays at great times". Our team never wavers from the game plan. In most cases, the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing in the hopes of a different outcome. In the case of this year's Zips, we just keep playing the same game even when down 20 points. So far, the insanity has worked. Just keep banging and the shots will drop.

They seem to like teams with a "star" player. That is why OU has a real at large shot: DJ Cooper has a national rep. We have Zeke, who is well known. BUT The X Factor here is Tree. On every ESPN telecast he gets a lot of talk. He is becoming more known, and has real star power. Like someone said, one of these days he is going to slap that ball so hard between his hands on a rebound it will pop. A strong finish from Tree will help us get a shot. He is already being touted as a future "fringe" NBA prospect. This is only his third year of organized ball, and he keeps getting better. Two "stars" would give us a better shot. It is not only about stats. It is also about general interest in the team and players.

Tree reminds me of Blake Griffin. He plays angry. With attitude. He refuses to be stopped. Playing like that WILL generate fouls, but at the end of the day he would have had another double double if he didn't have to sit due to foul trouble. It is almost as if, with a few minutes remaining, Tree said: "ENOUGH OF THIS BS. TIME TO PUT THIS GAME AWAY".

Zeke should NEVER be the one throwing the ball in. He should be the (tall) guy catching it.

The last two games we got behind, but Tree scored our first four points, to keep us in the game, if I recall. Tonight he came in at the end and scored 10 points in 8 minutes. He is turning into a monster. And I still did not see the foul OR the technical. Was Bo wearing the striped shirt again?
