  1. I'm pretty excited about this game. I truthfully have no idea if we're going to play well or play poorly....it's been such an up and down year. That's what's kind of exciting to me. Here's hoping the team comes out focused and with a great game plan in place. I'd love to see the Zips having fun out there. Kato, stay calm brother and for the love of God throw the ball away when ya have to lol.
  2. Agree. This forum has always been a bit weirdly defensive about that. Then again, we are a small fanbase and we have suffered a great deal lol.
  3. Ouch. Cleveland and Akron rank among the worst college towns, report says By Karen Farkas, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland and Akron ranked among the least desirable destinations for potential college students, according to WalletHub's 2018's Best & Worst College Towns & Cities in America. The best large college cities were: Austin, Texas; Las Vegas, Tampa, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami and Chicago. Here's the ranking for Ohio cities: Oxford (29), Cincinnati (50), Columbus (71), Athens (112), Bowling Green (267), Kent (325), Cleveland (332), Dayton (345), Toledo (372), Akron (378). http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/12/cleveland_and_akron_rank_among.html#incart_river_index
  4. Nice little shout out in Cool Cleveland! Freshman Zips defender Daniel Strachan (#25) was finishing up his senior year at Lakewood High School a year ago. In his freshman year at Akron he has started every game, and now the soccer star, who previously played for Internationals Academy of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy and was rated as the 18th-ranked player in the Great Lakes Region this year, is hoping to make a dream come true by becoming NCAA champions. After beating Louisville this week, TopDrawerSoccer.com named Strachan, along with Akron teammates goalie Ben Lundt (of Berlin, Germany) and fellow defender freshman Joao Mouthino (of Lisbon, Portugal) to its National Men’s Soccer Team of the Week. http://coolcleveland.com/2017/12/lakewood-soccer-star-daniel-strachan-enjoying-akron-zips-journey-college-cup/
  5. Nice. http://www.visitphilly.com/itineraries/philadelphia/the-breweries-brewpubs-and-craft-beer-trail-of-greater-philadelphia/
  6. Let me see...I've got 22.00 on me right now, so....maybe.
  7. Listening to WKNR just now. Aaron and Tony both think we're gonna have a great game and they're considering going down there to broadcast live. It may just be polite talk of course (Akron is a station sponsor), but if I'm the U of A I'm doing whatever I can to make that happen.
  8. Hmm. You just gave me a brilliant idea.... RUBBER DOME.
  9. I think the plan on offense was to play conservative ball, minimize risk and try and keep the score close. We were never going to win an all out air war vs. the Rockets, but yeah it was frustrating not seeing things clicking. Kato is prone to mistakes but that's understandable given his inexperience. The receivers overall did not have a great game today. Oh well. But overall I feel pretty good about the direction of the team.
  10. Nelson holds the ball too long. He'll learn eventually. Aw well, at least we're not getting shut out.
  11. He did start. Anyhow it's obvious the Zips had to play a near perfect game to match Toledo.
  12. Hey man, those baggage dudes are so vital to air travel.
  13. Before I go to bed I just want to add that both teams uniforms looked really cool. Oh, and drunk people at the bar kept yelling "Maction!" during every big play lol. Good night and see ya in Detroit!!!!!
  14. Why would you bet a game where you don’t even know who is playing QB?
  15. Game. Over. Wow, how different it woulda been without that asinine run play and fumble to end the half! Asinine!
  16. Crummy still killing us. man we needed that 3rd down stop
  17. Great punt. If we win it’s thanks to the D. Really aggressive tonite. And no bad penalties.
  18. Ya know, I’m not usually a fan of the draw play on 3rd and long, but for crying out loud, if Kato isn’t hurt by the end of this game it’ll be a miracle.
  19. Well it’s certainly not running and high percentage pass plays!
