  1. Saw KD @ Tap House Mon nite, didn't give prediction. Has anyone heard? Zips 1-nil .
  2. My wife called me tmorn and said 'I think Akron U [a throwback] made a mistake'. I tend to agree since we haven't gotton the process right since they stiffed Jimmy D.Despite that I voted wait and see and will hope for the best and buy season tix for SOCCER. P.S. This year in the College Cup will be first of many-- folks we are a primier soccer program.
  3. Whomever gets the job, he has to be given 5 years-- get rid of previous coach's players and have all his own, but if we don't see SOME continous improvement in the first 3 years, it will be time to go.
  4. equins-- gotta tell ya, I appreciate your posts.
  5. You mean they don't have hourly flights to RDU? [That's Raliegh-Durham Airport].
  6. I don't think there is a classier faamily than the Hixons.
  7. If I could go I'd look up my kin-folk, wellll maybe not don't want any surprises!
  8. In the distant past, radio stations had a person doing continuity, to make sure commercials were up to date, guess that's a thing of the past. How about that bank commercial that talks about 4 qtrs during basketball season, or that dip that asks his wife if she thinks it's safe to go out amoungst the downed lines?
  9. Historically challenged, huh? Sir Walter R_ _ _ _ _ _ _.
  10. Who Ilyia McGee came here with. Since I met Willie McGee I've tried to remember Albert Jones last neme thanks-- they were from Chicago.
  11. Agree!
  12. I JUST LOVE THE CONFIDENCE OF SOME OF YOU, WE DO NOT HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR ANYBODY, WE ARE THE TEAM TO BEAT. WE HAVE THE BEST OFFENSE AND THE BEST DEFENSE. GOOOOO ZIPS.
  13. Nice article about a class guy-- trouble is if he hadn't graduated from Hoover, the Suppository would ignore the team and him.Last Sun outside the JAR, I was talking to a guy that told me that the Zips soccer team was the best non-pro he had ever seen play soccer.
  14. The offers from the Univ stand, the option lies with the player. If they choose not to come I'm not concerned, the incoming coach will likely bring some of his 'verbals' with him. Players, for the most part, sign for the coach, not the school.
  15. I would have loved to have seem Ryan land that punch!
  16. Samo-samo here, must be the linky.
  17. Same here, makes you feel appreciated.
  18. Track record = Faust then Owens, then JDB.
  19. Me? No complaints, KD never tried to do my job, & I won't try to do his.
  20. Hey, there are still locals that call it Akron U, so the locals should be educated first. Can you imagine playing for 3 different coaches in 4 years.
  21. Any HS player that committed to the Zips with the losing tradition that the FB program has established since the late 80s, must be impressed with JDB or thefacility, it CANNOT be any established winning tradition, so I say if they go they go then we can establish some winning tradition with a new coach & winning philosophy.I must, however, confessnI'm skeptical that TW & the search committee can do that: the track record indicates another botched job: I hope not but historyiss agin us!
  22. I'm confident that LK has had MANY offers from richer schools than Akron, and has not left, I therefore conclude that there are 2 chances of LK leaving Mt. Union, and Slim has left the building.I believe LK is in the top 3 coaches in the US at any level; just as Caleb is.
  23. Note GM [Government Motors] hzas pulled their ticket. Don't think U has much to do with this.
  24. Are they thye team that played APSU/UAPB or the team that played Viagria oopssss I mean Niagria?
  25. Delete one hell no, to YES, I thought ITZ was fooling around and meant the old man! Afteer all he's from the Jimmy D tree.
