  1. Scott started yesterday at 22.8%. This morning he has 22.0% of the vote. Meanwhile, the UCLA kid went from 18.1% to 19.6%. Slam voting works. Fight back. Simply clear your Internet browser and vote again. Its being done by them.
  2. Figured out how the kid from UCLA is gaining ground so rapidly. He has a following who are "SLAM" voting for him. You can vote over and over if you clean your browser history every time you vote. I have Windows XP. I go to Control Panel; select the Internet Options icon and then delete the browser history. It works every time. You can vote repeatedly as often as you want. This method was used by fans voting for their favorite team mascot.
  3. VOTE. The kid from UCLA is gaining ground rapidly. do it now. VOTE.
  4. Okla State folks have their views on the game just as we do. Check them out. Cowboy View Points This high major program had a tough battle today. Yeah, they won, so what? Were they missing their #2 and #6 players due to NCAA hanky-panky? Did their vaunted McDonald's All-American Freshman toast the lowly Zips? Hell no. He sucked. The Cowboy fans were crapping in their chaps at the end of the game and during OT. Lose to a mid-major? Especially one they knew little about and feared even less? The Zips-Cowboy game was the best of the day all things considered. So, why are Zips fans pissed, upset or generally angry at their own team? The Zips get better each year. Stay with them. This is not a flash in the pan program. It is built on solid ground with great coaches and continually better players. Today the Zips stood toe-to-toe with an upper echelon Big 12 team for 45 minutes. Nothing to be ashamed of. Personally, I am pleased with our Zips. This is going to be a great year. Tomorrow we get Harney and Treadwell back. Let us see what a 95% complete Zips team looks like. Yeah, Alex is still banged up and so is Chauncey. Those two kids played their hearts out as did everyone else. For the brayers ... your Cant Sucks team crapped their pants the other night at home against a so-so Temple team.
  5. Scott needs your vote. His margin has slipped. Obviously some one is heavy voting for another candidate.
  6. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Kwan Cheatam, 6-9, power forward and Isaiah Johnson, 6-9, center signed LOI's today committing to the University of Akron. Aaron Jackson, 6-5, swing man,out of Gahanna Lincoln is reported to have signed as well. I have no update on B.J. Gladden. Since his father played for Coach Dambrot at Ashland we can assume that BJ will also play for KD. Signing these four gives Akron the best recruiting class in school history. Emphasis on class, not individuals.
  7. Niagara head coach Chase Brooks said. “It’s a great moment for Niagara men’s soccer. Michigan is a very good side and the team is coached very well. It’s going to be a very tough opponent and we’re just excited to play them." The kiss of death.
  8. Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. deserves to be investigated for collusion by the NCAA.
  9. Thanks to that game the NCAA changed the rule regarding unplayable field. Up to that time the rule allowed the lesser seeded school to host the game if they so choose to do so. No lesser seed school had ever took the advantage, always allowing the better seeded school to find a neutral field of their choice. Northwestern, bless their feeble minds, elected to enforce the rule and claim the home field. The NCAA then changed the rule.
  10. Yes. It is a regular season win. For the two walk-ons their points go into the university record book.
  11. I doubt that the Creighton bad call or even if we had won at Notre Dame would have changed the outcome. The fix was in. Two other outstanding soccer conferences (ACC and PAC-10) were screwed over along with the MAC. We ain't no Lone Ranger. The NCAA is corrupt. It is up to the various Athletic Directors to band together and clean the NCAA house.
  12. Not quite, Dave. The NCAA is a corrupt political organization.
  13. One young man was outstanding against John Carroll. Deji Ibitayo showed his complete skill set. He plays offense and defense well enough to earn the second spot in the rotation for point guard. Looks at this point that Carmelo Betancourt will be given time to improve in practice over playing time. Melo will get plenty of minutes against Oklahoma State simply because Rico is still hurting. However, Deji may get the start. KD tends to be really loyal to his seniors. Thus, it is not in Chauncey's best interest for his Dad to rank on the coach. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Chauncey has an entire season to play and display his talents. He has competition in the form of Jake Kretzer. Jake is a really talented freshman that is currently playing the four. Jake's natural position is the three (small forward). All Chauncey needs to do is play within himself. Chauncey is a darn good player.
  14. I spoke with Tom Wistrcill at the men's basketball game. My suggestion to him was that he contact the Athletic Directors of both North Carolina and UCLA. And all three of them draft an open letter to the NCAA regarding the total shafting that all three schools got. That selection committee needs to be disbanded and replaced by honest, unbiased people. Wait, "honest, unbiased", are we talking about the same NCAA we all love? It is blatantly appearant that the NCAA has an agenda regarding this year's College Cup. A tournament comprised of four hand picked Big East schools. Wow, I am impressed.
  15. UCLA is the sixth seed? They got screwed worse than the Zips.
  16. Just great. Got to love the NCAA.. Akron is a FIFTH seed. The BASTARDS.
  17. 5:34 PM and I can not find any NCAA Selection Show. What gives?
  18. From campus take Route 8 south to the Central Interchange. Follow I-76 East until you come to your Promised Land. For those of us who care, keep fighting, cheering and donating to Zips sports. The rest of you, go piss down your sorry assed legs like you always do. Two ZipsNation members I respect are DaveInGreen & Hilltopper. They helped sell Coaches vs. Cancer bands. AdaZip kept the secret. Not a single ZNO poster identified himself to me at either of the exhibition games while I was selling wrist bands. Now, that was "impressive". Now, shut your pie holes and let Coach Bowden and Coach Dambrot do their jobs. Try supporting them for a change.
  19. DADGUMIT ... vote, and keep this thread at the top.
  20. Neither Treadwell or Harney are guilty of anything; not even a hang nail. This issue is beyond their control. They are, frankly, victims. I suggest you leave it be and grumble at the non-basketball nerds who created the issue. And, yes, I know what is going on. And, no, I am not going to "spill the beans.'
  21. Help keep this thread near the top. Scott's lead shrink .2 over night. Opponents are blitz voting. So, vote now. Thank you and, as always, Go Zips !!!!!
  22. This is as good an explanation as anyone could give. Non-athletics people are doing their best to screw with the workings of the athletic programs. Right now the target seems to be men's basketball because it has been successful Stay tuned.
  23. Per the CCU board: "ok i take that back trolling is only fun when your post actually post, and do not have to wait for mod approval. I wasn't even trolling just trying to see what they think their team is like." Just how does this edition of the Zips look early on? Well, BIG (you have seen the posters and tee shirts); QUICK; ten players DEEP; lots of game experience and sadly missing Quincy (he'll be back); love to run transition; full court pressure; mostly man-to-man. Great freshman recruiting class consisting of six-eleven Pat Forsythe; six-seven Jake Kretzer (D-2 Player of the Year in Ohio); six-six Reggie McAdams (D-3 Player of the Year in Ohio); and five-eleven Carmelo Betancourt (was starting point guard at Montrose Christian Academy). All four will contribute major minutes. Have heard that at least two of the these players could start right now; probably all four could from what we saw in the two exhibition games. This team loves the "pick-n-pop" and alley oops and dunks; and the usual inside-outside game. Do not forget the pressure on the ball defense. And, of course, Game Changer patrolling the middle. Injury report: Alex may still be gimping on his ankle sprain. Though, he ran a full practice Wednesday. Rumor: Zips may be without the services of Tree and Nick for this game due to a technical difficulty not of their making. Frankly, I would be disappointed in any point spread under fifteen.
