ONCE AGAIN,WHAT IS BROOKHART AND HIS STAFF DOING!?
Hilltopper replied to Lee Adams's topic in Akron Zips Football
JD Brookhart = .500 coach at best. -
Hilltopper, did you get to watch the game on tv this week? I saw CJ7 on numerous occasions meet CJ11 as he was coming off the field. Tapping him on the head, discussing things. He looked into the game last week. Is this a sign? I hope so. I hope its a sign. I agree that CJ7 has the tools to be a winner, just lacks the focus.
-
From what I've seen this year I'm note sure CJ7 is ever going to mature into what kind of QB he could be. Even last year I felt he spent way too much time on the sideline goofing off, even when the O was on the field. I thought CJ11 looked pretty good in the Army game, where has that guy gone? Until we can consistantly move the ball through the air and make some big plays, teams are going to stack the box and shut down our running game.

You will need a lawyer to decipher it.

It was way too exciting in the last 2 minutes! I'm not sure how we did it, but a win is a win.

Most Memorable Rubber Bowl Experience
Hilltopper replied to g-mann17's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
I have many memorable experiences in regards to the Rubber Bowl. The first was the 1969 Acme-Zip game against Tampa, my first ever Zips game. Over the next 37 years alot of good times such as the 1976 season which included playoff victorys against Nevada/Las Vegas and Northern Michigan, Karl Walenda walking the tightrope, epic battles against rivals YSU and Can't State, lots of great highschool games plus many more. The bad times included Chris Angeloffs death on the sidelines, the 1988 loss to patsy Arkansas St on the fumblerooski play, Gordon Larsons last game , a thumping by the Quantico Marines in a blizzard. The most memorable moment of all has to be the November 15th 2005 game against Ohio. That was the night my Dads dream and wishes came true. Dad lived and died for the Zips for 40 years. The Zips won an important game to keep alive their hopes of winning the MAC east. Dad wasn't there to see it, he had passed away exactly 1 year to the day prior. After the game I went onto the field and spread some of his ashes on the 50 yard line. For years he had joked that he wanted his remains scatterd over the bowl by one of the low flying planes so often seen at games. When the Rubber Bowl is finally gone I will still remember the great times more than anything else and it will always be a special place. -
I am outraged at the location of my tickets for the Army game. This is just another slap in the face of the loyal fans who have supported this program for a lot of losing seasons. I can't wait to see the thousands of empty seats between the 20 yard lines when no one shows up to use their freebie ticket that someone at their work paid for. WHAT A JOKE!

Your beating a dead horse SGM405. We all know you think Frye can't play. Let it go, you'll feel better in the long run.
-
He did just enough to lose. My point is how many threads do we need that take potshots at one of our former players? There was already a thread talking about how Frye is "washed up" on the board. All this new thread is doing is getting the Frye supporters riled up. If you were a potential recruit and looked at this site how would you feel about one of the Zips former players get raked over the coals on a regular basis?GP1, I ask again, what has Frye done to you that you despise him so much?

Please be a bowl... Please be a bowl... Please be a bowl...You mean like this? http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/coll...-mult-headlines(see #13) I sure hope we DON'T end up with something that looks like that! Please no erector set stadiums. All that looks like to me is a highschool stadium on steroids. I would prefer concrete and brick to aluminun any day.

Couldn't resist another chance to take a shot at Frye and the Browns? Please let us know the reason you think Frye should be burned at the stake? This is a thread about Alleman not Frye.
-
I have heard the same thing. If it happens, Frye will become the #2 QB and Anderson will be cut. They will pick up some complete scrub to be #3. Also, if it happens, the evidence is complete that the head coach is desperate to win next season, just look at some of the dinosaurs he has picked up the past two seasons. I don't know exactly how it works, but somehow if the Browns cut Frye and another team picked him up then they would lose a draft pick.?.?. If the Browns cut him under those circumstances, I believe they don't think anyone would want him....bad news for Frye. Those who think the story on Frye is incomplete are mistaken. Frye is a sub .500 QB with a suspect arm, accuracy and intelligence. He is accurate when throwing 5 yard passes, but inaccurate throwing long passes. NFL games are won with big plays and he is not the guy to help Cleveland win. The best thing Frye does is scramble...it's too bad it is always with his back to the line. The good news for Frye is that mid season next year when Green goes down for the season, he will be the starter again if he is still with the team. Some of you have to admit that the thought of Frye starting another season for the Browns does not excite the media or fans of Cleveland. I figured you would put in another shot at Frye. Why do you despise him so much? Did he run over your dog? Did he not give you an autographed football? We all know that you think he is the whole reason the Browns suck. Never mind that they have no supporting cast that would make any QB look bad.(See Jeff Garcia) SPARE US THE CONSTANT NAYSAYING AND LET THE PROFESSIONALS DO THEIR JOB.

I think you should fowaerd it to all the major media. What a classless response. -
The NCAA owns the NIT. Its not an independant organisation.
-
I don't see why they moved these games to Cleveland. Unless they don't care about attendance. Other than some real hard core MAC people, no one is going to forfeit their entire Wednesday to watch the bottom of the MAC duke it out. I thought the attendance was pretty good. There were alot of OU fans and a good number of BGSU fans also. I think the GA seating had people scattered instead of all sitting in the same section. Overall I would give it a B grade.

Nobody wants to take me up on an offer for FREE! tickets? Last chance, see you there.

Well deserved in my opinion.

I think that the travelling call on Linhart was actually a foul on the Can't player who banged into Nate. Him crashing into Nate made the ref think he had moved his pivot foot. It was a classic anticipation call. You know, something just happened here in front of me so I blow my whistle and now I can't remember why. So a call must be made even if its the wrong one!

Sent you a PM. See you there!
