  1. All I can say is LMFAO!!!!!!
  2. If the first game was any indication Romeo Travis will have another big game. Can't will put extreme pressure on our guards all over the court. If we can break free for an entry pass it will result in alot of easy baskets for Romeo. But the real test will be who else will step up to the plate to make some outside shots. WE can't have very many scoring droughts or it will be a long game. Anybody else have any ideas?
  3. SO you think Goddard deserves some playing time? at whos expense? Do you think he could guard Chet Mason in man to man defense? Goddard is nothing more than a tiny little role player on this team. We would have to be playing a team that was using a zone defense on us and we would have to be in a zone ourselves. He might be able to match up defensively with a few other guards, but anyone with some quickness would blow right bye. Bubba couldn't guard Mason last night and he seems quicker and has a bigger wing span. This is a defense oriented team and coach. If you don't play D or turn the ball over you won't play. Ask DP!!
  4. Bubba had a real tough time trying to guard Chet"the jet"Mason last night. Masons eyes lit up when he saw Bubba on him and he immediatly took Bubba to the rack. The reason Joyce fouled out was trying to slow down Mason.
  5. Did anyone else notice the MAJOR battle going on tonite between Dambrot and Peterson. DP played only 15 minutes on a night when we desperatly needed his scoring. The final time KD pulled him from the game, there were harsh words exchanged. KD even made mention of the situation during the postgame show. Is it because of some defensive deficiency, or too much one on one on offense,or...? Whatever the problem is , they need to get it resolved for the sake of the team.
  6. I'll be there.
  7. I think #5 showed he belongs today!
  8. I have it from a very good source that an announcement about a new FOOTBALL stadium is not too far off. Dr. Proenza has a person scouring the books for the money to make it happen. He believes that AU must have an on campus football stadium to compete for todays student. Its all part of his plan to take AU from a "commuter" type school to a more traditional "residence" school. It has been proven that once Dr. P wants something he gets it!
  9. Wrong, I was thinking more along the lines of TROLL!!!
  10. I also talked to my McK booster friends about Hight. They said he was a tremendous talent but very tempermental. The coaching staff wanted him to play offensive tackle but he wanted to play TIGHTEND!. Thats what his suspension was all about. Once they other kid at TE was injured Hight took over and played quite well. Bottom line is this kid has a ton of talent, but getting him to play team ball might be a problem.
  11. I perfer guys that are good players, no matter the size. I've seen to many of the likes of Zollner, Myers,Seibert, etc...
  12. Zipster I think that would be a great idea. Perhaps we could get the Golden Knights demo team or a military flyover. Check out these links. October 1 means a better chance of good weather, which helps with the crowd. http://www2.acc.af.mil/airdemo/ http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/GoldenKnights/
  13. Anybody have any idea as to why Collins didn't dress tonite?
  14. Does this mean goodbye JD?
  15. C'mon Big Zip, you don't remember Klaus Zollner! Now there was a ringing endorsement for recruiting overseas.
  16. At least I don't live in Michigan!
  17. Did you guys see the sideline interview during the MACC championship game last night? I thought Charlie handled himself well. Again he was mentioned as a possible 1st round pick.
  18. C'Mon Dave, register already!
  19. Check oit this article in todays USA today. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...rterbacks_x.htm
  20. So let me get this right Zipper, any johnny come lately who is willing to spend a $1 more than me this year should have the ability to knock me out of the seats that I have paid for the last 25 years. Never mind the fact that I have spent and contributed many thousand $ during that period. The bottom line is that they are throwng mud on the people who have made it possible to have the program we have today. Just because someone at the university thinks they have a hot ticket now doesn't mean it will happen. People will vote with their wallets. Captain K has hit the nail on the head. You build fan bases with average people, not corporate "donors".
  21. So you think that around $100 millon per year is not funding higher education at UA. The states contribution accounts for around 45% of the toatl operating costs of the university. As a taxpayer I must say when will it ever be enough to satisfy some people. Throwing more money at a problem is not always the answer.
  22. My dad called the Beacon the next day when they didn't cover the story to ask why. The answer was that it wasnt newsworthy. All channel 3"s report was based on a press release by the architechural firm that made the drawings for the university. They "knew " that the university doesn't have the fund to build it right now. so in their minds there is no story. I guess enough other people called that they had to run something. IMHO its all political as to the Beacons attitude towards the university. Until there is a change of partys in Columbus and the resulting changes on the board of trustees at UA don't expect much "support" from the ABJ.
  23. Finally a game where we looked like a football team. Nice balance of run and pass. Great individual play by Hixon(246yds all-purpose),Biggs(165yds rushing) kept buffalo on their heels all night. #5 was in complete control tonite(202yrds passing,2td). Good amount of blitzing and aggresive defense tonite. Maybe we can make a game of it with the remainder of the schedule after all.
  24. As we were in the process of changing our seat location, the young lady at the ticket office told us we wouldn't know the location of or new seats until the ticket manager had time to go through the dozens of other requests from other ticket holders. Guest zip, do you understand anything about economics? Price is a function of supply and demand, when demand goes up so does price and vise-versa. Seeing as how the JAR is not exactly packed for most games it seems to me that the net effect of this policy will a loss of revenue to school. There is an axiom in business that costs much more to get a new customer than to retain an old one. MY prediction, lots of empty blue seats in the lower level unless they give them away.
  25. We finally got tired of the constant turmoil invovled in knowing how much the "donation to the Zip atheltic club" would be each year in order to maintain our same seats that we have had since the day the JAR opened. When we finally got the order form and brochure, it informed us that for the honor of staying put it would cost us $525 per seat and $56 per parking pass!!!!!! $2212 for four seats and two parking passes!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've been season ticket holders for over 30 years in basketball and football. This is not the NBA folks. These guys are trying to charge champaign prices for cheap draft beer. The end result is that we moved up to the upper reseve area, total cost for 4 seats and parking passes: $512. Net loss to the university: $1700. These guys who run this have no idea what they are doing. Hell of a way to do business.
